and suddenly, all at once, it seems to have come to an end.
my brother comes home at exactly 12:17 for lunch at home because it is Tuesday and he is back in school at Benicia High. I used to do that.
The UC's started on Monday so half of the Benicia youth has flocked back to their selective schools.
Here am I, with another 2 + weeks before classes. These breaks are extensive as hell, vacation overload, too much of a good thing.
I feel fulfilled though, it was everything I could have asked for. I had the best Christmas and the best New Years ever. Speaking of the New Year, I think it is time to set some ground rules for myself. I've been told that a New Years resolution is silly because why create a whole mesh of livestyle for yourself when really the first of january is just another day out of the year.
Well okay, i'll go with that. Today is January 8th and also the day I begin my New Year. Here it goes:
1) I will do my best to keep myself busy. Sitting around leaves too much time for thought and overanalysis, and these 2 are never good things. Shouldn't be difficult with 18 units and a job let's hope.
2) Do well in school, obviously. I have the potential to do well and it is always within reach so damn it all, I need to do it. Rule number one should help with this.
3) The universal resolution - eat better, be healthy. I can't keep living off of cream of wheat day after day, and I need to start excersizing. Join a gym maybe?
4) Learn to respect myself and become a self confident, independant individual. There is always room for improvement here and it so important. I need to fully learn to love myself and accept my faults. And to do this I will try to:
5) Be happy. Do fun things, surround myself with good people, folllow my rules, enjoy life, be a good person, relax, don't over-analyze, be confident, do things that make me feel good. It is so simple and so seemingly easy, just be happy.
Seemingly easy, yes. But easier said than done I suppose. At least now I have goals.
Anyway. I am headed to Mammoth with cole in about 2 days and then San Diego with my boy, and then back to Santa Barbara. This will conclude the Benicia portion of my winter break. Farewell to my family, and my new friends, and milo who is so contently sleeping next to me.
The End.
