I'm now at Lackland AFB waiting to start school tomorrow morning. I have been waiting far too long (3+ years) for this. The day is almost here. I'm nervous but excited at the same time. Hopefully I can pass all my tests. From here on out in the flying careers, you need a 85% or better to pass.
The drive here was uneventful (thank God). Took about 12 hours and I didn't get lost until I passed the gate to get on base. Not bad for not knowing where I was going at all. I did some driving around after I checked in to my room. Found out where the schoolhouse is and then went off base to the nearest Wal-Mart to grocery shop. I should be good with food for a couple of days now. Very glad to have internet access in the room too. I might have been a little bored w/out it considering I'll be here until early November.
I think it's funny that the hotel is right across the road from my basic training squadron. Brings back memories, even though it was only 9 years ago. Not much has changed either except they re-named the buildings w/people's names instead of the training squadron #. Mine was the 331st back in '00. It's also wierd seeing and hearing the new "kids" march all over the place. I was once in their shoes.
I'll try to keep this thing updated as much as I can, some entries may even have pics.
Oh, and GO PACKERS!!!!
