Tonight, I am baking. I am making
a_hollow_year's
soda bread recipe. I haven't made soda bread before. I also added dried cranberries, based on a comment from
imaginarycircus. I love dried cranberries. I eat them pretty much everday, as a topping for my oatmeal. Once the bread is finished, I will make
butter. My cream is about a week old, so it may not be the best butter, but I'm trying!
I'm a bit worried about my soda bread, though. It looked a lot sticker than in
a_hollow_year's photos. I also used white flour instead of wheat. I probably should have consulted the internets before doing this... but really, the only extra thing I had to buy to make this was the buttermilk. If it turns out terrible, I will buy wheat flour tomorrow and try again!
EDIT: A
very very happy video from Britain's Got Talent.
EDIT 2: My bread and butter!
The butter is very tasty! The bread is very dense, more like a scone than fluffy bread. Mmm though! Quite delicious with butter and jam.
