I am sick of this. I am sick of the national media focusing whole-heartedly on New Orleans alone. Yes, it was terrible what happened there, but Katrina affected Mississippi as well. I,
yokuso,
hersisterbek, and others I know are sick and tired of Mississippi being treated as the embarrassing cousin that nobody likes to talk about. So, I sent an email to msnbc.com.

I feel the SAME FUCKING way!!! So mad! I'm hurt!
MY PARENTS HAVE NOTHING DAMMIT
There are HUNDREDS OF BODIES LITTERING THE STREETS WHERE I GREW UP.
Yet nobody in the media, and therefore the rest of the world, seems to give a flying fiery shit.
fucking.assholes.
i hate them so much.
FUCK NEW ORLEANS. They may be poor, but they will get enough donations that they'll be able to build themselves back up quicker than the MS gulf coast will. You know why?
Because the media only reports about them, so people who have good hearts and want to donate, don't even realize or think about MS because they have hardly heard mention of it.
IRATE IRATE IRATE
The first couple of days that we got up to Jackson (well Madison, actually), the first place we found with power, water, and therefore, internet and TV, all we saw were: a) NEW ORLEANS, the same footage over and over and over and over and over and over and over and OVER, and b) the Hard Rock Guitar that was left standing in Biloxi. Every now and then they'd show some footage of Gulfport, where the Grand Casino Gulfport was, but that was IT.
Okay, what about Slidell, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Pass Christian, Long Beach, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Moss Point, Escatawpa, Picayune, Kiln, Hattiesburg, etc?
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH so angry.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you so much, Maria darling.
I love this letter.
