The bikers on my Flist will LOVE this...
So, today I get a letter from the Police...
To the occupants of ....*my address*.....
As part of the consultation process undertaken by Avon and Somerset Constabulary, residents of the area were asked to detail the most important policing issue affecting them. A primary concern of a number of residents is the problems they encounter with anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhood, and the effect this has on their quality of life. If this behaviour results in a public nuisance and criminal offences, then it is necessary for the police to take positive action.
It has come to police attention that there have been incidents of anti-social behaviour on *my street*. The incidents in question involve leaving motorbike engines running and/or rev in the early morning hours which is also causing noise and carbon monoxide pollution. We also had reports of these bikes being ridden on the pavement which is a criminal offence and is a hazard for other people.
The purpose of this letter is to make you aware that the police are monitoring this situation and that action will be taken should we receive any further reports of this behaviour.
Our aim is to reduce crime and disorder and the fear of crime and disorder in the locality and I hope you will give the matter your full support.
Contact us if you wish to discuss the matter further.
Regards
Local beat team...
Fair enough about the pavement.... I bump up onto it so I can park the bikes in the garden....
But warming the engines through if I haven't ridden them for a couple of weeks and just starting one up at 6:30 in the morning if I'm riding it to work just idling on choke for about 30 seconds now means I'm anti-bloody-social?
What. The. Fuck.
I am seriously unimpressed.
If I've upset the neighbours, couldn't they at least come knock on the door and TALK TO ME FIRST??!?!!?!
