So, both my mom and
rzyna have asked for pictures of my new apartment, so I thought I'd share just in case anyone else was curious. Here's my new living space!
I live on the second floor of a small building with only 4 apartments in a nice area of town. I have an outside parking spot and a garaged spot, so this winter I'll actually get to keep the snow off my car!
My front door, with one of my manga cabinets on the right.
My living room, with floppy garfield on the couch, gaming systems just barely in view, and second computer sitting on the floor. This is the room you walk into when you come in.
The same side of the living room that the door is on. There used to be a fireplace in the building, which is why it comes out like that, but it's been blocked up now. I still get a cool mantle to store stuff on though!
My mantle! I love having an extra place to put candles and fun stuff, like a picture of my parents!
Looking from the couch into the dining room. The front door is on the right, the doorway you can see to the left leads to the bedrooms/bathroom, and the kitchen is forward into the dining room and then to the right.
My kitchen! Lots of good cabinet space and counter space, which would be awesome if I cooked, which I don't. So most of what is in my cabinets can be made in the microwave.
My balcony is kinda wobbly, but it's great for my plant, and looks down onto a large yard. Thankfully the landlord takes good care of it, I certainly wouldn't want to have to mow it! Chris and I like to cook out on my tiny grill sometimes, so it's good for that too.
This is my bedroom, on your right hand side when you walk in the door. Two of my bookshelves, all filled to overflowing. And my lovely blanket over the window, trying to block out the sun while I'm sleeping during the day!
My cheap, crappy Walmart futon bed, proving that you get what you pay for. It's thin and lumpy and uncomfortable, but it's a bed.
My duckies! I bought these for my bathroom awhile before I moved out, kind of a promise to myself that I was going to get my own place. Well, now they've got a seat for themselves in front of my mirror.
lol, you can see the reflection of one of my Godzilla towels in the mirror. Yes, I'm still a kid. :)
One of the best things about this apartment! Tucked behind the bathroom door, they're small and fairly quiet. Had to pay a little more in rent to have them, but it's worth the convenience of not having to go out to do my laundry.
A dark and very bad picture of my computer room. You can sorta see my manga/anime bookshelf there on the right.
My crafting shelf! Mostly yarn for knitting projects, but there's some crocheting, latchhooking, and who knows what else. Crafting shelf is probably the best name for it. You can also see my Bleach wallscroll and my other manga cabinet, full of yaoi goodness.
Another angle of my computer room, complete with Weiss wallscroll. There's another one in that room, I just didn't get a picture of it.
So, that's my place. It's pretty big for one person, and though it took awhile, it feels like home. My home. And that's the best part about it. :)
