(no subject)
1. It's been nearly 3 weeks since I've had my clarinet. While I've gone this long without playing before ::cough-summer vacation:: I dont' think I've ever been this long without having it in my possession. It's kind of weirding me out. It's going to be all better - fresh pads, realigned keys and polished - but I feel bare without it :(
2. My house is clean again. I've kind of gotten in the habit of making Tuesday my house cleaning day. I start in the kitchen and work my way back through the house. In the last few weeks I've cleaned ceiling fans, scrubbed cabinets and doors and vaccumed behind the desktop computer. I also tried playing furniture tetris this afternoon, in attempt to reclaim my closet from the monstrosity otherwise known as my CD and shoe organizer thing. (god bless IKEA). Unfortunately, that failed MISERABLY :P So, it's going to mean online shopping through IKEA to find a way to fix this. I WANT MY CLOSET SPACE BACK!
3. I got my Dear Jack DVD and poster from Jack's Mannequin. The print is absolutely gorgeous, and it's signed, too. I'm curious to see what the DVD is like. And, I think I'm going to download the 4 song EP, even though the music box version of Swim came with my early purchase. I also found a couple of Jack Johnson songs that I want to d/l as well. It depends on how much extra money I have, once I get paid on Friday. Aaaaaand, Andrew Macmahon is coming back to the HOB in February!!! Tix will soon be acquired for that as well.
4. Hockey date this Friday. God, they'd better play well. That's all I have to say.
5. Bela Fleck and I have been getting along very well lately. One of the guitar teachers @ work is bringing me new music every Wednesday for me to burn, including Fleck's Acoustic Planet series =) I seriously love my job, most of the time =) =) =)
6. I actually got to go on an honest to God vacation a few weeks ago, that didn't involve 48-72 hour turnarounds and marathon driving sessions. I have pictures uploaded to my computer, but the ambition to actually code a picture post is still escaping me. (The pic above is from our afternoon visit to Williamsburg. I got to see my family, newest Little Dude and Maryland!Stephie =) It was a looooong week, but very much worth it.
7. I've been doing alot of studying with the Vatican II documents. Deacon Ray let me borrow a copy of the texts, which is supposedly in inclusive English. But it still reads like legalize to me. But I had a 30 minute session with him this afternoon, working through some of my questions that my studying has brought up. I'm learning alot about my faith, and I'm only 30 some odd pages into the first of 16 documents!!! But I asked him alot of questions regarding faith differences, and differences about faith versus religious traditions. (And the difference between what Vatican II ecumenical council laid out and what the Catholic Catechism says. Apparently they are quite different.)
