Tooth news, shopping, idiots, and more

So, on Monday, the dentist slapped some desensitising stuff on my tooth and told me that it was nothing to do with my filling, and wasn't decay or a crack. He told me it was probably staining, and the pain was due to an exposed nerve which should shrink back up after a few days.

Since I'm still in pain despite the stuff he put on it, I'm not sure if I should be convinced or not.

It does seem to have had some effect, though - it's hurting less frequently, although up until last night the pain wasn't any less intense, if that makes any sense.

Today, however, it hasn't been hugely painful at all, so maybe - hopefully! - it is starting to get better.

Also on Monday, I stayed in town after the appointment for a few hours, and I did some Christmas shopping. I also bought a load of stuff for myself, using my birthday money. I bought around eight books, seven of them novels, four CDs (not counting the ones I bought people as presents), and some other things. I also had a text-message conversation with Jodie - yes, she does actually have my number down right this time. XD We've definitely got to meet up after she's had her baby.

Yesterday was just another average day at work, with some exceptions. I wasn't scanning, though, I was back to my usual department. Yes, I started scanning last week for the first time ever, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I actually managed to "embarrass" the department, as they put it - because I've been getting a higher scan count than Ashley (who usually does it aside from Euan's dad, who is the scanning supervisor) has been for the past several months. *smug grin* And yes, I realise that those of you unfamiliar with my line of work will have absolutely no fucking idea what I'm talking about.

Anyway, yesterday, as I said, was average, aside from the fact that I was once again called to put the office Christmas decorations up. I only did the two trees, though, I decided to get back to work rather than put the other decorations up. It did take me around an hour to do the trees, after all. It also helped distract me from two of my idiotic, bigoted co-workers, who spent much of the day spouting off all kinds of homophobic bile. Nothing new there, then. *sigh*

Today, it is my day off, and Euan got his motorbike back. \o/ 'Tis all fixed up and shiny now.

Lunchtime now.

motorbike/scooter stuffs, shopping, tooth issues, euan, attack of the stupid, christmas, work, stupid co-workers, dentist, assholes, oh the pain
