Today was a bit hectic to begin with. I cancelled last week's asthma review and re-booked it for 12:00 today. I slept in longer than I would've liked, so I shot out of bed, had a quick bath and dashed into town to catch the bus. I had to ask which number bus it was, as I've only travelled out there by bus once before, and I think I caught the wrong one. I got off early, just in case I had, and I ended up getting a bit lost. XD
Anyway, I arrived with plenty of time to spare, so I went into the nearby newsagent to browse through some magazines and buy some crisps and chocolate, before heading to the surgery - I ended up getting seen earlier than expected.
Before my review went ahead, the nurse offered to give me my flu vaccination there and then - I had already booked it for Saturday, but I accepted. Hey, it got it out of the way, so I would't have to worry about getting up early on Saturday to get it done. My poor arm is aching like mad now, and probably will continue to for the next few days, but that always happens whenever I get the jab done, probably because I always tense up, so, eh, it's to be expected.
I then caught the next bus back into town, before heading into Blockbuster to have a browse. I bought a couple of DVDs and some more chocolate, before having a wander around a few more shops - I eventually went to the supermarket to pick up some fajitas and a new handbag (I've wanted a new, spacious one for a while now) before walking back home.
When I returned, I discovered that the delivery people had popped round to deliver a parcel (Euan ordered a "present" for me - he won't tell me what it is), but, snce I wasn't in at the time, they have to redeliver. As they only redeliver once and return the package to the sender after five days, I called into the office to take the day off tomorrow and work those hours next Wednesday instead. I then arranged for them to redeliver tomorrow, so I'll be in to sign for it.
On a different note, I'm on the lookout for some new music, so can anyone on my flist recommend any new metal bands for me, ones you don't think I've heard? I'll give anything a try. I'm particularly on the lookout for some female-fronted bands, but I'm also keen on male-fronted ones, too. I'm not overly keen on "screamo" - I enjoy a bit of screaming in that kind of music, but not to a huge extent. I usually like it to be mixed with singing as well. It just depends.
I say this because I was in HMV earlier checking out the metal section, and I considered buying some albums based on cover art alone, but I decided to be sensible and wait.
Any recommendations? ^_^
