Well, since I'm now actively seeking employment once again, I decided to have a look through the local newspaper, to see if there are any vacancies that sound somewhat appealing.
Surprisingly enough, I came across five reasonably interesting-sounding ones:
The first one is for a part-time postroom assistant, which sounds boring as hell but at least it involves lots of organising.
The second one is for a warehouse operative, for the same company. The fact that it involves heavy lifting puts me off, though. I did enough of that at Argos, gave me backache for weeks. I will still apply, though, just for the sake of it.
The third one is for an "enthusiastic Saturday person", for an estate agent. Whatever the job involves, I have no idea. All I know is, I'd be working in a busy office if I got the job. Slightly apprehensive about applying for this one, but, if it involves filing documents, bring it on! I love organising things.
The fourth one is for a school photographer. I'm in two minds about this one, too. Photography = good. Photographing young children = bad.
The fifth one is for a fabric shop in the town centre. This vacancy is, by far, the most preferable-sounding one out of the lot. It'll be nice and quiet, and I've always had a liking for fabric shops.
Righty-ho, then. Time to write a CV/some letters/send some e-mails, and hope for the best.
Euan and I are going to see West Side Story at the theatre tonight.
Jem's performing in it, so whoot. =D
