I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend~

It had been a year, which was hard to believe. Suki had been in this place for a whole year now, and so many tings have changed. She'd grown, made friends, lost even more, and experienced things that she never thought she would, but there was one thing that never changed: Sokka. Throughout her time in Adstring Sokka has been the one thing that ( Read more... )

Sokka slept in, of course. But the smell of breakfast enticed him awake earlier than he would have normally risen. Noting that Suki was out of bed, he took the time to brush his teeth and toss on a clean shirt before descending the stairs and sneaking toward the kitchen.

She'd notice him, of course -- she always did. He liked to try to surprise her, though, strafing across the scarred hardwood floor in his bare feet. If his stomach didn't give him away, growling hungrily with the smell of food in the air, certainly his hands on her hips would alert her as he came to rest behind her. "Morning." Leaning in, he pecked at her cheek and then pressed against her, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Breakfast, huh? Smells good already."

Of courses she wasn't surprised by Sokka, but she didn't turn to face him. It made her smile when he tried to sneak up behind her. For a moment, she shut her eyes, leaning her cheeks against his, smiling.

"Yup. I wanted it ready for when you got up, but looks like that won't be happening." Not that she was upset about it though. But she did turn around, taking a break from cooking to face him, draping her arms over his shoulders.

"Good morning." She whispered before kissing him.

"Mm." He smiled against he lips, and before she could pull away, he answered against them, too. "I'm sorry I ruined the surprise." It cooed out of him almost like a purr, and he kissed her a second time to add to his apology he was sure he didn't need.

It was a pretty special day, he knew. Sokka didn't do a good job keeping track of dates and times, especially in a place like Adstringendum, but there was something about Suki's arrival that had really stuck with him. He had seen the date approaching and he now that it was here, he felt a little excited. They'd made it, and pretty well considering the prevailing conditions.

"Would you rather me go back to bed?" He asked, closing his eyes and resting his forehead against hers, feigning tiredness with a teasing yawn. "I can pretend like I never smelled a thing."

His last question made her smile flirtatiously. She leaned in close to him, lips almost touching. "If you go back to bed, then I'd follow." She softly chuckles before pulling away to go back to cooking, nudging him playfully as she did so.

"But it's alright if you want to go back to bed for awhile. I'm not done yet anyway." Her eyes were back on the food, making sure she didn't ruin anything. "Or you can set the table?" And stay up with her and keep her company, because Suki really enjoyed Sokka's company and his silly jokes. Well, she liked them most of the time because she knows he's just being sweet. She loves the fact he works so hard to make sure she's happy, and it always works. Suki is always happy thanks to Sokka. Even if they fight, they always found a way to work things out. Even flawed, their relationship was perfect in her eyes.
