Cindy and I were discussing our relationships with friends last night, and I was wondering if we are unusual. Pretty much any time we hang out with someone, we come as a pair. It's not that we're opposed to having non-couple friends. In fact, it was nice when Cindy used to be able to see movies she knew I wouldn't like with one of her lawyer friends (friend has since moved out of town). Cindy tells me we have a queer approach to friendships, since we spend time with friends as a couple. She says normal hetero people tend to hang out w/ members of the same sex (ie. Girls' night out or Guys' poker night). I am unfamiliar with these practices. In fact, I think I generally prefer talking to women (much like my dad). At the local ice cream parlor, Cindy always talks to the male owner, while the female owner is more likely to talk to me.
