Well, I have just recently surfaced from the sea of midterms/essays/horror, and it appears I've made it out alive. :)

He never wears patterned shirts anymore, or loud colors, or goes a single day without shaving. These days, it’s always dark suits, somber and conservative, more suited to the owner of a funeral parlor than to the hollow-cheeked, empty-eyed forger.

He wore the shirts for Arthur, just to see the point man’s numerous expressions of barely concealed horror in the twitch of his left eye and the downward turn of his lips. He never shaved because Arthur always made a point to do so - with a straight razor no less, skillful bastard - shining blade scraping up and down over the planes of smooth cheeks.

He’s still good at what he does. Even after all that had happened, after what’s only spoken of in hushed whispers and never more than that, of the death (cold-blooded murder) of the best point man in the business, of the hell that raged in the wake of his lover’s vengeance.

They were planning to get out of the business, just the two of them. Together. After all, they had enough money to satisfy them for several lifetimes. Arthur was eyeing a nice flat in New York. He was also looking at adoption papers; something he didn’t know Eames knew about.

Saito watches him as the days go by, withering like a corn husk, and it’s only then that the business mogul truly understands that money can’t buy happiness, and anyone who says otherwise has never lost happiness (love) in the first place.

All the money in the world can’t bring Arthur back from the dead.
