I'm so busy. I started a cushy home-based job thanks to some help & training from a super awesome fellow lj-er (who shall remain nameless because she doesn't need you all hassling her for super awesome jobs). I am doing something called "scoping" for court reporters, which makes me a Scopist. You've probably never heard of it, but it is cool and you can do it in your pajamas.
Since hooking up with a reporting firm downtown to do some scoping, I have also been roped into LEAVING the house and venturing to the horrible depths of downtown to help in another area the reporting firm covers: I will be a Hearing Registrar for non-court type hearings held by a professional association. I do not get to wear my pajamas, but I do get to make people swear or affirm to tell the truth (fair trade-off?). I also have to take minutes and stamp exhibits - doesn't this sound important and exciting? No? Well, I can't get out of it now. I don't think I'll have to do it that often, just when someone within this professional association has been bad and needs a beat-down. Still, I hate going downtown, the SkyTrain, parking at the SkyTrain, uncomfortable business pants, shoes and leaving the house in general.
So much for my leisurely life on the couch eating bon bons and watching Oprah all day ...
Sigh.
I'm hoping to make enough dough to treat Rob (and myself) to a long Italy/France vacation, that should make all the suffering and pants working worthwhile.
