I just started preheating the oven and making a pot of coffee for a new chocolate cake recipe I'm trying. Then there's dishwashing and bathroom cleaning and the hanging out of laundry to be dealt with, and of course I need to make the rest of dinner and tomorrow's lunch. I might also try to bake a batch of cookies; we'll see how it goes.
The big news of the week is that Kathy got accepted to the University of Maine Onward program. Kathy was born while I was at UMaine and spent the first six years of her life there, so this is doubly exciting for her. I can't wait to go up there and visit her and walk aroudn pointing out as many of our old haunts as still exist. She'll be moving up there in August. Whee!
I've actually gotten hooked on an ongoing Harry Potter
fanfic. I read an excerpt of it that someone had posted somewhere or another yesterday and had to take a look, and next thing I knew I had devoured all twenty chapters. At this point, the finished work is bidding fair to be as long as the original book, but I am dying to see how it all turns out. I quite like Harry's adoptive parents too. I hope we see more of them at some point.
I am putting out to the universe that our household needs a kitten, preferably male. We are down to two cats, both of whom are technically seniors, and Hoover is definitely acting like an elderly cat these days.
Dragons:
At various points this week I could think of things that I wanted to write at length about, but darned if I can think of any of them now. Oh well, the coffee is probably done, so I should get that cake in the oven. Later all!
