“Where is Yixing?” Jongdae asks as he scans the room around him.

Kris didn’t answer and instead, stood up from his chair and walked towards the window.

“He found out.” Kris deadpanned and Jongdae froze.

Kris looked back at him and continued, “Never mind, I was planning to imprison him so it just got early.”

“You... you imprisoned him?” Jongdae asks incredulously and Kris merely stared at him blankly, “Why, were you expecting him to have escaped?”

Jongdae forced himself to stay relaxed and answered, “Why would you imprison him.”

“I still need to kill him in front of his father, right?” Kris asks back mischievously and the former replies, “Kris, I know Yixing isn’t the-,”

“Stop. I will act like I know nothing of your interruption of my plans for Yixing so just do your job in this community.” Kris ended as he saw someone coming in his building. “You’ve been acting strange lately and I wish that won’t have an effect on the coming schedule of ours.”

“Of course not,” Jongdae assured as he clicks his tongue. He should have known that Yixing was stubborn enough to stay and now where did it get him; both of them walking in thin line.

Kris then walked towards Jongdae, who is standing before his desk, and faced him face to face, “You need to shut up.”

Jongdae straightened his posture and decided to just nod. He didn’t look back and simply walked towards the door. He could hear Kris sigh in restlessness behind him and when he opened the door, he saw Baekhyun about to knock.

“Oh, Baekhyun, what are you doing here?” Jongdae asks in surprise and when he saw the visible blush on the latter’s cheek, he turns his head to see Kris smiling angelically towards the younger male. Jongdae looks back at Baekhyun and smiled weakly, “Of course. Baekhyun, of course, you will be here. How dense am I. I’m going now. Come in.”

Baekhyun was about to say something but Jongdae immediately closed the door. He should have known this coming. And now Jongdae couldn’t do anything more than to shut up.

“Baekhyun?” Kris calls out and the male looks at him and answers, “K-Kris... uhm, why...”

Kris only smiled as he approached Baekhyun.

***

Yixing woke up sore and dizzy. He felt the cold marble floor of the room and felt it familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. He tries to stand up but the effect of the thing injected in him was taking its toll.

He saw a paper in front of the white door, same color as the walls, and decided to crawl towards it after knowing he was still too weak to walk.

And when he did reach the door, he held the paper and read the content.

“Don’t you dare make a sound if you don’t want your dear Luhan killed in that island. I told you to escape but what have you done? Kris means every words so please, stay silent; I can’t help you anymore. - Jongdae”

Yixing cringed in horror. Luhan was in danger. And now he couldn’t bang on the door and spit curses towards Kris. Not that he wants to do it anyways. He felt helpless now. He’d lost his will to fight. He knew his end now. He was going to die, on Kris’s own hands.

He laughed quietly as if to mock himself, if he could turn his back from the life he knew, he could learn to throw the one he has now also. But this time, he had already accepted his death. There was nowhere to go to but the straight path to hell.

What worse could it be when he knows deep inside him that he still loves Kris.

“I’m really useless,” Yixing chuckles bitterly and looked around him. There was only a bed, no headboard or anything. And a closet. He realized this was Kris’ guest room where he mostly put his things. But now the only remnants of it are his clothes hanging on the rack. He tried standing up and this time he walked finally. He went in the bathroom and saw no way out. It was hopeless.

He was now counting to the days before his farewell to this sick world.

Yixing wonders if going crazy was easier than getting killed by the man you loved. He didn’t know why but all he could think of is how he’s going to die.

He goes back to the door and even without turning the knob, he knew it was locked. The door was thick enough to smash his shoulder had he attempt to break it. He sighs as he traces the door’s texture with his fingers towards the wall and then...

“Baekhyun?

Now Yixing realized his hearing was just coming back. He leaned his head on the wall and listened intently. He then heard Baekhyun’s voice, “K-Kris... uhm, why...”

Why was Baekhyun in Kris’ office? And then Kris’ footsteps. Yixing hasn’t forgotten how to know what was happening on a scene just by his hearing ability, and he winces in resentment as he remembers it was Kris who taught him.

“Come here.” Kris approached the younger male. And then a shoving of arms. “This is wrong, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t bear to hurt Yixing. He’s my friend.”

Yixing’s eyes went wide. And the voices continued to speak,

“We’ve broken up.”

“Liar. I know how much Yixing loves you. I can’t do this anymore. I don’t want to hurt Yixing.”

“It’s true. When he came here, I broke it off with him and he suddenly went with the dispatched group immediately.”

“He… he did not…”

“He did.”

And the next sound tore Yixing into pieces. Baekhyun believed Kris, just as he did. But what was painful was when he learned that in those days he wasn’t around, something had happened with Baekhyun and Kris. Baekhyun… he knows he didn’t mean to fall for Kris but… Yixing can’t contain himself as he covers his mouth to hide the muffled cries.

Behind that door, Kris had took Baekhyun into his arms and kissed him the way he knew how he kissed Yixing and that was enough to numb Yixing with disappointment and sadness.

He was alone in this. And will die alone.

The pain within his chest is now throbbing like it was going to explode. It was painful. Too painful and he couldn’t do anything about it but cry. It was torture enough to hear what they were doing and it was more agonizing when Yixing hears the loving words that comes out from Kris.

Perhaps he just wants to die right there immediately. He never did anything to Kris and yet here he is, suffering in misery with his own tears as his only companion.

So it was Baekhyun. It was really Baekhyun. Kris didn’t have a reason to get Baekhyun to his bed other than love itself so it drilled into Yixing’s mind that Baekhyun is the one who gets to see the real Kris. But in all the fuckery, Yixing just didn’t know who is Kris anymore. Because the one he fell in love with was no more than a mirage now.

Yixing stayed stoned on that door until his knees gave up and sat on the floor, tired and dizzy yet again. The sound emanating from the other room gave him direct hit in the heart. The moans, groans, and sounds of ecstasy sounded prominent in the room. Yixing tensed. He could not explain it or if it was his eyes making their way out of their sockets because he was still crying.

He hugged his knees close to his chest and covered his ears, hoping it’ll block the sounds away. It was excruciating. He felt betrayed even more, hurt even more, and can’t breathe in pain anymore.

Another minutes and it was like he didn’t feel anything. It was just like that. Numb. Empty. Nothing.

He was tired, really tired of everything. Why won’t Kris just kill him right away?

It was painful waiting.

Was it ever going to end?

Yixing hadn’t realized it yet but he merely stood and walked towards the bed. He collapses on it and the sounds are still there. But he just lied down, unable to think, or move a muscle. He just lied down. He didn’t know how another hour passed until the door unlocked itself.

Yixing sits down in instinct but when he saw the person entering, he was lifeless.

Kris was holding a black leather jacket and suddenly threw it at Yixing. Yixing didn’t bother to dodge it and it landed on his lap. Kris smirked and said, “It’s your beloved Jongin’s jacket. I think I’m considerate enough to give you a memory of him, right?”

Kris laughed mockingly as Yixing widened his eyes, “You… you killed… him?”

Kris didn’t answer but smiled. He then pulled out something from his pocket and threw it over at Yixing’s bed. “I don’t need that anymore. But thanks to that card, I know how to kill your father and his circle now. You don’t know how that helped a lot.”

Yixing felt disgusted by that smile. It was insulting and repulsive. He eyed the jacket and card instead and Kris spoke once more, “You really thought I loved you, huh. Was it good? All the make-believe words I’ve said? My touches, the way you squirmed under me was a proof you did though.”

The smirk was evident and Yixing didn’t want to look. He doesn’t want to be more pitiable.

“I’m tired of you so I… went for Baekhyun instead. He seems to be more enjoying. Oh, I’m sure you’ve heard, right? I recorded what we’ve done by the way, and I will use it to torture your father.” Kris says in mockery and Yixing finally lifted his head to look at him. Those red empty eyes were the things Yixing wished Kris wanted to see because what more does he want than his misery?

“Do what you want. I’ll die in the end anyways,” Yixing answered in a quiet tone.

Kris shrugged only and said, “It’ll soon be over, Zhang Yixing.”

Yixing didn’t bother to interpret the meaning of the tone behind the voice and just looked at Jongin’s clothe. Kris then walked out the room and didn’t say anything else.

The silver blank card laid there on his bed and the jacket in his arms - Jongin’s jacket. It felt warm within his touch. Yixing once again felt the grief. He ruffles the jacket and folds it into two. It has two pockets on it and Yixing remembers how Jongin wore this half-way always. He felt himself smile at the image of Jongin. And then the words rang inside his mind, “I’ll leave the house for awhile. Don’t go looking for me once you have found the truth yourself.”

If only he believed at Jongin in the first place, would have anything of this happened?

But who was he deceiving but himself because he knows he will still believe Kris since that’s how he was; foolishly in love.

And then he felt something in the on the soft cloth of Jongin’s jacket.

He opens it wide and used his hand to feel something inside the back part clothing. He runs his hand smoothly on it until he felt it. There was something inside. He looked for something to get a hand in it and found it on the bottom hem of the jacket. Yixing didn’t know how but knowing Jongin, there was a secret pocket in the said clothe.

When he managed to open the hem, a folded thing fell. It weighted quite heavily because of the thud sound it made on the floor. He picks it up and realized what it was. It was Jongin’s pocket knife. He knows it is because he recognized it.

Yixing didn’t know what to do but fold it open and mastered the pattern. And then there was a note that fell also. Yixing frowns as to why there was a piece of paper in Jongin’s pocket.

He read and the handwritten words only said, “I love you, Yixing. Please, leave.”

Yixing pursed his lips in a grim line. He felt guilty. Jongin might have known Kris to be giving him this and thought of his well-being…  But… he can never do it. He couldn’t even slash someone’s throat now. It just won’t do. Luhan was in danger if he did. And Kris will never go near him until the schedule.

“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry, Jongin,” Yixing whimpers as he held the jacket close to his chest, trying hard not to break into tears once again because all he could do now was to wait for his death…

***

The days went by with two guards bringing Yixing’s daily necessities. He was a bird in a cage and if he tries to go out, he will not be the only one who’ll suffer.

He had grown self-abhorrence into himself as he also realized that he was the reason why his father will be even killed. He gave everything they wanted from him. From information to the government’s downfall. He knows The Government’s fate is just right as it is but he had never imagined his father getting killed again. Well, at least he’ll die first, he thinks and he won’t be able to witness his parents’ anguish.

And the sounds.

The sounds kill him every night. It was torture. He would rather choose Chanyeol’s heavy fists and rods hitting his face than hearing the sounds. No matter how empty he was, there will always be a part of him that will hurt.

It was unbearable every night. That Yixing’s lips bleed when he bites too much because he wanted to distract himself. The sufferings were too much that he had once thought of a ridiculous escape of it.

Jongin’s knife. He grabbed it under his pillow and opened it. There was no time to lose. He wanted it to end there and now. And so the sharp part of the blade was positioned across his throat. If waiting did him nothing, he will just do it himself without Kris. He was ready to do it and end his life…

But Jongin’s image flashed through his mind. It was Jongin’s. Killing himself with it meant throwing what Jongin sacrificed for him into waste. Yixing was all set to slash… was prepared to do it… but then he lost the will power.

He was weak beyond belief. He could never do it. On the back of his mind he wished for Kris to do it himself. And it sent Yixing to his own self-pity once more.

***

It had turned into weeks. Three weeks to be exact.

It was the day of the schedule. The schedule where the train will move towards the underground part of The Government’s building. Each wing of the castle-like building was planted on each side of the train, having the control of what wing to blow up first.

And the offense team will attack the circle directly before assessing the bomb threat.

Kris would be in lead.

Yixing was supposed to be by his side, to help him make his way to the high balcony of the building to convince the people. But that will just be listed on water now as he sat on his bed, completely empty.

He knew this day would come. The day where all Kris’ plans will succeed. And his death was part of it.

He just waited. And waited. In those timeline he was imprisoned, the last Kris saw him was when he tossed Jongin’s jacket at him. He stares at the door of his prison and anticipated his ill fate.

Until the door of his room finally opened. He expected Kris to enter with a gun to just end his life.

But then, it wasn’t Kris who welcomed his sight. It was Jongdae.

“You need to come out.” Jongdae said sternly but Yixing only stood up. He thinks he will be now escorted to where he will really die. “Kris’ men successfully got their way inside the circle’s conference room. They were tricked into a meeting and the gas weapon you acquired from three weeks ago sent them into unconsciousness.”

Yixing half-smiled, not understanding why Jongdae was even telling him this.

When he reached the door though, Jongdae stopped him by grabbing his shoulder. The latter whispered something to him that brought back reaction to Yixing. The surprise was evident and the knife he was holding that held Jongin’s letter in it dropped from his hand.

Before he knows it, he was already running outside the door and into the conference room all teams once gathered into.

As he run downstairs, where the room was located at the first floor, Jongdae’s voice repeated,
“He’s going to kill Baekhyun. Save him.”

Yixing understood the part of saving as saving Kris. He didn’t know why but he felt scared. What was happening? Why would Kris kill Baekhyun? He was supposed to kill only Yixing. Why… why Baekhyun.

And when he did reach the room, Yixing didn’t take a second as he barged in the area.

The sight wasn’t convivial.

Baekhyun was on his knees, hands and feet tied behind him, facing Kris but what was surprising was the latter himself. Kris’ face wasn’t visible for he faced the screen but he stood there, posture too straight and his hand was holding a gun, pointing it at Baekhyun’s head.

Yixing was confused. And on the wide screen was a familiar face.

The whole Government Circle.

They sat on their seats steadily with machine guns pointed at their heads.

Yixing saw his father.

Time stopped as it is.

“Your father isn’t the only one who owes me, Yixing.” Kris spoke finally and Yixing suddenly looked at his back.

“This guy…” Kris shifts his gun and pointed it again at Baekhyun, the latter flinching from the stir while tears ran down his face, and continued, “his father is aliased Guang. And I’m here to show this guy how unfortunate his life is.”

Yixing made a step forward, “Kris, what are you doing. You’re supposed to kill me only…”

Kris tilts his head casually before answering, “That’ll be for later.”

Yixing was taken aback but slowly walked in - realizing that he sees no more of a person’s soul within Kris anymore.

“Did you enjoy the show, Byun? Did you enjoy watching your son being screwed by me?” Kris’ tone let out a sign of cheer and scorn. The old man in the screen recoiled and replied, “You son of a bitch dare do this to my son…”

Yixing stopped his tracks when he saw his father staring right through him, eyes telling him to stay in his place.

“Well, fuck you. What you did years ago can’t be compared with your bastard’s life,” Kris answered, now with anger. Yixing then remembered when Kris said he recorded everything they’ve done. And now he learns he did the same with Baekhyun, realizing it must have been the show he asked about to the old man.

“How does it feel, Byun? How does it feel when your own blood cringes under my command and now under my mercy,” Kris’ smile turned vice and with each word dropped like lethal sound. Baekhyun cried in front of him, asking for his life with words like “I thought you loved me…” But Kris only looked at him blankly and replied, “You’re nothing but a tool in my revenge.”

Yixing knew what Baekhyun was feeling right now. They were both tools, emotions used by Kris. Yixing didn’t know what to do. He needs to save Baekhyun, he didn’t want another innocent person to lose his life.

And then Guang spoke, “Why do these? Why didn’t you just directly came for me and kill me instead. WHY ARE YOU DRAGGING MY SON’S LIFE IN THIS?!”

Kris responded with a rueful smile, "Because I had always believed that humiliation of pride is more a torture for the kinds of you than physical pain."

With one click of a second, Yixing knew what will happen next and before he ran in time, Kris had pulled the trigger.

There was loud scream from Guang and then a loud ‘thud’ came after.

Baekhyun lied lifelessly on the floor. Yixing heard nothing and his world became mute as he ran to the boy. What scared him more was when he saw Kris’ face. He was smiling… he was smiling when he did it. He pulled the trigger with a smirk while looking at Guang. Guang continued screaming in protest as he struggled into the guard’s hands on him.

Kris almost laughed. And the rest of the Circle didn’t do anything but stay silent, even Yixing’s father.

Kris looked down at the two figures before him and saw how the bullet passed through Baekhyun’s skull, leaving the latter dead on the spot. Yixing carefully placed the boy on his lap and called, hoping the other could still hear him. “Baekhyun! Baekhyun!!!” Yixing tries to call out and tears ran alongside his cheeks.

Kris ignored them and finally looked at the screen. He stared right through Yixing’s father and just said, “You’re next, Lay.”

The screen then went black.

Kris turned around and left. Yixing was still in shock as he wished Baekhyun would regain consciousness. But he didn’t, his eyes remained open… and there was no life in them anymore.

Yixing breathed in painful gasps as he placed Baekhyun carefully on the floor, his hand hovering over his eyes to close them. Baekhyun was dead. Another friend of his was dead and the dreadful thing was he witnessed how he died and Yixing wasn’t able to do anything about it. He stayed for another minute as he thought of all the things he could have done to prevent what happened. If only, if only he just forced that knife down Kris’ heart… none of these things would have taken place.

Jongdae was at the door when Kris reached the exit. The latter glared at Jongdae and said, “Why did you let him out? This will be the last time you’re interfering.”

Kris left without another word. Jongdae approached a weeping Yixing and says gravely, “I’m so sorry about Baekhyun. I thought… I thought seeing you would make Kris stop.”

Yixing didn’t reply. He stared at Baekhyun only and cried silently.

“He didn’t care about anything but his revenge. What makes you think I’ll be able to save him? There is no saving him because he doesn’t deserve to be saved!”  Yixing shouted as he glared back at Jongdae.

Jongdae didn’t flinch from the words but said instead, “You have to come with me.”

“Where,” Yixing scoffed as he stood up. He doesn’t intend to stay any longer in that community. He needs to find Kris and kill him himself.

“To the place where the bombing will take place.” Jongdae answered straightly and Yixing looked at him incredulously, “Are you mocking me? What are you trying to do to me?! Why won’t you for once say the reason behind every fucking things you tell me?!”

“Yixing, please. If you want to kill Kris… you have to see it first,” Jongdae didn’t know how to choose the right words for Yixing to oblige with him. Yixing, feeling the shock and tremor of what just occurred, didn’t answer but instead followed Jongdae. He stared one last time at Baekhyun and then turned his back. He decided he will never forgive Kris.

Jongdae accompanied him to the black jeep and turned on the ignition. Yixing sat robotically on the front seat, not bothering to know where Kris went.

“All of the teams are now in the building. They had breached in and the train is already located as planned.” Jongdae explained as he pulled out of the driveway. Yixing didn’t answer and noticed how there was no citizens in the streets of the community.

“Even the citizens are there to witness the crumbling of the system,” Jongdae ended and drove in high speed.

Yixing felt the maddening hatred inside him. He wants to see Kris. The love he felt for the other hidden now on the back of his wounded heart. Now all he could think about now was of his gun’s bullet right through Kris’ head and heart.

But he knows… he knows… right at the moment he’ll do it, it will the moment he’ll regret it also.

***

The whole city was packed. The gate of The Government’s building wide open for all citizens to watch. Every reporter, cameras, focused on the man and screen at the highest balcony of the middle wing.

Military forces can’t do anything about it since no orders were given. Orders only from one of the circle could give.

And the truth of it all was that everyone has been waiting for this.

On the screen, big enough for everyone to see, displayed the room of the circle, the unconscious men seated right on their respective places. Kris was beside it, smiling down to the people as if he just saved them all from pain.

“Good Evening, people.” Kris said through the microphone he was holding and faced the crowd.

The citizens seemed to be doubtful of the things Kris was doing but the latter continued, “As you may know, I had gathered the circle of men that had this country go wasted unequally. It is now time for us to make our own freedom. To make the vow of this country being treated evenly into reality.”

Some nodded; some still held the suspicion of Kris’ actions.

“And the first part of the show,” Kris’ eyes glinted in excitement as he goes on, “is of our beloved circle going through their end!!” And then Kris pushed a button from the control he was holding and the left wing exploded. Through the screen the whole thing went gray to black and to total void. There was no remnant of living thing in it and the explosion rose bright swishing of fireworks, sending the whole black sky in colorful bliss.

People were amazed and most of them clapped their hands in rejoice for they also wanted this, wanted the tyranny to end. And for the first time in decades, there came hope within those eyes.

Kris clicked another and the right wing blew up, sending his fringes up with the impact of the wind.

Another fireworks display happened and everyone now rejoiced.

It was freedom. The schedule was almost done and Kris was smiling from ear to ear.

“AND I WILL BE YOUR KING. I SAVED YOU, PEOPLE. NOW IT’S YOUR TURN TO RETURN THE FAVOR AND WORSHIP ME,” Kris finally said and there was a pregnant silence from the people. They didn’t rejoice of their newly acquired freedom to be ruled by a tyrant once again.

Kris knew of their doubts and smirked smugly, “I will be your king. Don’t you have the decency to bow before me?”

The people didn’t budge. The community citizens are more confused as to why Kris is being like this.

“He had showed his real self,” Yixing muttered as he was there, having witnessed the whole scene, tears brimming down his face as he wanted to run inside and save his father... everyone close to him now gone.

The people around him looked at him and recognized Yixing as one of Kris’ close acquaintance.

“He’s lost,” Jongdae replied. Yixing didn’t answer as he remembers the story Jongdae told him on their way to the city - where he told him about Kris’ life as a government’s pawn and how Li Jiaheng became Kris. But the reason and cause of Kris’ revenge remained untold and unknown to Yixing.

Kris was laughing even though the crowd went silent. In just a spur of minutes, he had become hated by the whole population before him. And he didn’t care. He was holding a phone on his left hand, on the screen was a message in the entry… and when he hit the send button, he was prepared of what was going to happen.

Yixing watched in sympathy as he wonders… on how Kris became like this. Why he was being like this. The leader he saw on his first weeks in the community did no longer exist. It was now a mask of pure blindness and tyranny.

The crowd was scared to voice out their displeasure, scared for a second time and Yixing saw this. He saw how hope slowly started vanishing again.

This isn’t what you wanted, right? Yixing said in his head, looking at Kris from his place at the middle of the crowd.

And in a split of second, Yixing realized that Kris was looking at him. He couldn’t understand the meaning within that look but the fact that he found him in that mass of people, Yixing felt his chest tighten.

But after three mere seconds, there was a gunshot.

Yixing found his self screaming as the gunshot went right through Kris’ chest.

Kris didn’t look surprised. The sudden pang of the bullet that landed to his chest made him feel more human now, because he could feel the pain at that instant. He had longed for this kind of pain that will kill the remaining sanity inside him. He didn’t close his eyes as he dropped on his back, his body landing harshly on the ground.

Everything went silent.

Every heads turned to look for the culprit. And all eyes landed through the pile of smoke from the left wing.

A person emerges from the smoke.  The people near it squinted their eyes to see who it was and then someone shouted, “It’s Mr. Lay!!”

Most people gasped and whispered in disbelief.

It was Yixing’s father.

Yixing’s eyes fell on his father’s hand. He was holding a gun. Everybody knew that Lay of the circle did most of the balancing of everything if not only for the circle’s selfishness. And Yixing’s getting confused by each event happening.

“Everyone, calm down. That terrorist threatened us with his lunacy. He might have killed our system but I wish not our hope.” Mr. Zhang spoke and his face showed how much his current state pained him but still kept a straight and calm expression. The people were in awe as they realized that their only beloved circle member was alive. Mr. Zhang drops his gun and once again said, “I ask your support to build this nation in one piece again.”

It was a simple request and everyone’s trust was back. In Yixing’s father. Yixing had always known that people trusted him but… he never imagined that whole support of the country will be put on his father’s hand in one gunshot.

Kris.

Yixing snaps his head back to the balcony and remembered Kris.

No, it should be his gun pointing at Kris right now. It should be him killing him.

Yixing started sprinting towards the entrance but there was a hand on his shoulder, stopping him from moving another step. He turns around and tried to reason out, “Jongdae I am not going to let him die without my own hands wrapped around his ne-,”

Halted through his words, Yixing’s world stopped.

He looked at the owner of the hand and his face couldn’t be more of shock and wonder.

“Jongin?” it came out as a whisper and the addressed man shook his head, “Don’t go in there, Xing.”

Yixing became more bewildered.

“What? Why-,”

And there was another explosion. Yixing didn’t dare turn his back to see where it came from.

But when he did, he saw the middle wing now covered with just smoke, fireworks playing up in the sky. Yixing froze and when he processed on what just happened, “NO!!!”

Yixing screamed as he tried running again, but Jongin was there, stopping him from doing any more stupid thing. And then there was another pair of hands… Yixing paid attention and realized it was Luhan. This time, he broke down. At the middle of rejoicing thousands of people, Yixing collapsed on the floor.

He fell on the two’s arms and screamed. Screamed and cried.

Jongdae was nowhere to be seen any longer.

Yixing didn’t understand anymore. He felt like giving up. He wanted to just scream and tear apart right in that part of the street. Not for the reason that he just wants Kris dead with his own hands, but because he knows he won’t be able to see him ever again.

The shock of seeing Jongin alive in front of him didn’t sink at first as he drenched in sorrow.

And when he did realized that Kris didn’t kill Jongin, there was a tinge of hope that Kris wasn’t the person he showed he was- oh, Baekhyun. Yixing remembered Baekhyun… Clearly, all he could think now is that he’s going crazy.

Jongin gently ran his hand on Yixing’s back and coaxed, “We’re here… Yixing, hold on.”

Luhan was more worried and tried explaining, “When I got here Jongdae told me immediately what happened. I’m so sorry, Yixing… I’m so sorry I wasn’t there…”

Yixing didn’t try to understand as he let the two will him into place, Jongin didn’t speak anymore and just held Yixing, aware that there was no right explanation and Yixing knows it’ll haunt him forever.

***

Far from the eyes of people, there is a building near the highest balcony where Kris’ last breath happened. In that building, there is a tall guy holding a phone in his hand. Two messages were opened through the screen.

The first one, “I’ve slept and fooled around with your precious Baekhyun. Feel free to shoot me now because I’m not sorry.” Attached to it was a photo of the younger male and Kris, on bed.

The second one, “You’ve done it. But Chanyeol… I’m sorry I didn’t think first of our friendship because, I’ve killed Baekhyun with my own hands. The only punishment you can give me is to blow the building I’m in.”

The hand that held the phone shook, there was an obvious sign the owner of the hand will lose his mind.

“Oh, seems like another person has some good news with his own life,” Luhan chirps while Chanyeol only looked at him and smiled more. “My day couldn’t be better,” the latter answers before skipping to the stairs and into his room.

“I have to see someone first before we go to the docks,” says Chanyeol say to Kyungsoo but after they pulled away, the three had gone their way to the forest.

Chanyeol had never loved secretly this much. He thought after all this has ended, he will be free of the obligations and find Baekhyun himself. It was all about Baekhyun… and who would not act in impulse if one of your most trusted friend killed the only person you love.

Baekhyun was the only reason he even comes back to the city he had despised for so long. And another fact rose into his mind, he will never see Baekhyun ever again… nor Kris.
