I was hoping you'd see this post. It seemed like something that would be right up your alley. I don't have many other freinds who would be happy with me about my lizards! :D

You're right about it being an anole. I even knew the term in the back of my head but forgot about it until you reminded me. Looking it up, it's likely to be Anolis carolinensis. Those are the native ones around here.

I got a photo last Easter of this one showing off its red "dewflap". It was cool.

I like the color-changing properties of this one, too. It's part of the charm.

Wow! They're so tinyyy! Did a momma lizard hatch some eggs in your house, I wonder?

It's entirely possible that they are just babies, but I thought babies of the normal-sized lizards I see would be bigger than that. Perhaps there's more than one species around here. I live in a rural forested area, so the more the merrier on creepy-crawly things.

So cool that you found a live one! As I was telling you on MSN yesterday I too love my lizards. I have heaps of photos of them in Greece & Cyprus that I'll have to dig up some time, and then there's our local blue tongue lizard. Sometimes we're fortunate enough to have one or two in our yard, which like the frogs is meant to be a sign that there's a healthy ecosystem there for them, so yay that!

What did it think of the life saver? I'm assuming it's one of your usual wint-o-greens. Was talking to my friend about them the other week when discussing the difference between peppermint and spearmint, and how it's interesting that you don't care for peppermint - a combination of 2 mints you do like, while I didn't care too much for winter mint - one of the ingredients of peppermint which I do like.

Ooooh, lizards. I'm usually overjoyed whenever my cat kills something (proud parent?), but whenever the little monster kills lizards, I'm a little uncomfortable. Yours is amazingly tiny, but I still wonder how he got into the sink.

There was once a toad outside my house I nearly stepped on. It was rather bold and refused to leave, though my cat loomed threateningly in the window. I named him Hubert. I wish him the best.
