Extra: I also once wrote a poem called Dream Guardian, which was written vaguely with Puzzleshipping in mind. (Wee, Puzzleshippy poetry, yet another way to share its love with the world.) But it's...sort of cheesy...so you're just getting the fic. xD

The sun would rise soon.
Atemu’s eyes went to the window, through which he could see the lightening sky and the looming coastline. And he wasn’t sure what he was supposed to feel, knowing that soon…within only a few short hours…this world might not be his anymore. How did one settle on a single emotion for something like that?
In front of him Yugi was asleep, curled under the covers with his head on the pillow, one hand clutching the chain of the Millennium Puzzle that connected them. His eyelids twitched, lost in a dream. Atemu’s translucent hand settled on top of Yugi’s as he gazed sadly down at the young man.
One last night of watching over him. One last sunrise at Yugi’s side. One last look to etch the memory of his aibou’s sleeping face into his mind.
With bitter amusement Atemu realized, that at this moment of ‘lasts,’ it was the first time he truly appreciated everything he was about to lose.
