It is fundamentally flawed to believe that schools can educate the youth of America about the ideals our country was founded on while simultaneously denying the student body the rights outlined and enumerated as justification for the American fight for independence. Whether the sign was promoting drugs or not is irrelevant. This country is founded on the right to free speech. As an American Citizen, you may disagree with anything or everything another citizen of this country has to say, but it is your moral obligation to defend their right to say it. It is the very fiber our country is built upon. No wonder our students come out of school understanding little and caring less about the nation they are raised in.
