Beef Summer Stew

I picked up a couple of 2 packs of popeseye steaks at the farmers market on "special offer" (aka. "look like you might be interested in buying something but aren't 100% sure") and froze one. One's going to be fried in the traditional manner with sweet corn and salad. That left me with one steak, google threw up this recipe which I've used as a basis for this variation that I'm doing in my slow cooker.

ingredients:
chopped yellow tomatoes
mushrooms
red and yellow peppers
carrots
red onion
steak
garlic
red wine
vegetable stock
flour
pepper

roughly chop all the vegetables. slice the steak into 1/2" lumps, cover with flour (i dump the beef and into a sandwhich bag and swing it about) and braise in a pan with the garlic and liberal amounts of pepper. Deglaze the pan with red wine. Put it all in the crock pot. Cook on high for 1 hour, then low for 4-5 hours until delicious.

For the marinade for tonight:

red wine
olive oil
sesame oil
balsamic vinegar
freshly chopped basil
garlic

This is all best conducted while drinking a Bols Genever G&T and listening to Balkan Beat Box.
