Wow. A QUIET day. Who'd'a thunk?
I slept until almost 9 a.m. today! And probably would have slept another twenty or so minutes at least if the cat hadn't decided it was Time to Wake Up the Monkey. "Come on, Monkey. Time to get up and turn on the water in the bathroom sink so I can drink from it. Let's go. You up yet? You up yet? You up yet?"
I did have a dentist's appointment this morning, which wasn't fun. I HATE getting my teeth cleaned. However, my X-rays turned out wonderfully and the dentist said I have "such beautiful teeth"! So that was good. What was ALSO good was that I only had to pay a $15 copay for $248 worth of work/x-rays/etc. I love my insurance. :D (How often do folks say THAT?)
I was going to go shopping with Mom right after my appt., but she phoned and left a message while I was in the dentist's office--apparently, my godmother (who just lost her husband a couple of months ago to a long, drawn-out illness) was going to be up near where Mom lives, and suggested they go to lunch together. So I went on home, where I am now, and had lunch, and am going to just sort of hang around here for a while until Mom's ready to go. I can't possibly object to my godmother having a chance to visit with Mom for a while--my godfather was so sick for so long, she had almost no time to herself, day or night. And she probably needs to talk, too; Mom, who's also a widow, would be a great listener.
That's okay. A quiet day is nothing to sneeze at. :) I do have a meeting this afternoon, though, out at one of the high schools in the district; we're voting on whether or not to ratify our new two-year contract. I'm voting yes; I saw the changes that were made, and I think they're perfectly reasonable. I'm pretty sure it'll go through with no problem.
Hm. Maybe I can go sit outside and read until time to go.....
