It's been a Lissa kind of day

I unpacked a couple boxes and found my shoes!! I've been wearing the same pair of shoes since Oct. 28th, because I thought it would only be a couple of weeks until we closed the loan. (For the record, we STILL haven't closed. I'm only living here because I'm renting from the seller until closing.) But yay for shoes! My feet are much happier. :)

I also got everything ready for the Christmas lasagna--made the sauce and cooked the meatballs (which get sliced and put into the lasagna) and the Italian sausage (ditto). It's all in the refrigerator now, along with the cheese, waiting for me to put it together Christmas morning.

Mom asked me to come pick her up and take her shopping--she still had a couple presents to buy. (Mine, that is.) So we went to Fred Meyer--a local Northwest store that had the idea for one-stop shopping ninety years before Walmart Super Center did. You can imagine what THAT looked like on Dec. 23. So I picked up a couple things, then disappeared out of Mom's way while she did the rest of the shopping--and managed to completely forget the one thing I really needed: Pumpkin for pumpkin bread. :P Guess that means I get to go shopping tomorrow. Yay.

Came home and did a bit more baking--this time, red velvet cupcakes. They look YUMMY, and the cream cheese frosting is DEFINITELY scrumptious. I think they're just about cool enough to frost now, and then I'll put them into their airtight container until Saturday. It's becoming quite the baking frenzy here in the new place! Not that I'm complaining, mind; I'm having entirely too much fun. *G*
