I really needed those days away. REALLY needed them.
dameruth and
countessaleska are wonderful hosts and loads of fun, and of course Kitty Fry and Kitty Tippy made the visit complete. :) The drive--six hours each direction--really helped, too. Sometimes, being alone with yourself on the road is just what the doctor ordered. I've even started to think about Ulysses again!
Jeff's been so much in my thoughts recently, not surprisingly, but those thoughts are starting to shift from mourning to remembering, which is a really good step. Soon, I'll be able to get to my next step, which is sitting down and writing all the memories I have of him, or as many of them as I can recall, in whatever order they come to me. I think it'll be incredibly cathartic, but I'm just not quite there yet. I think it'll be a day with my computer and me, alone in the house, with a huge box of Kleenex. Maybe this weekend? I hope so.
Back to work tomorrow, and I'm ready for it. And I'm also going to register for the screenwriting classes at SFI tomorrow, too! Yay! :D
Now, it's off to get ready for bed, and hope my apartment warms up some. I'd left my sliding glass door open for Sable, and also forgot that both my bedroom window and the fireplace damper were open; consequently, when I got home, it was 51F inside and out. Maybe I should consider buying some of those really warm bootie slippers.....
