In Nature's realm...

Someone who was once a man, and is now called Satan, stands before his wife's mirror, and stares sightlessly out over the world. He does not move when three women enter the chamber.

"Did you enjoy your vacation, Natasha?" his wife, Orb, Gaia, asks him.

He offers a faint smile in response. "... oui, cherie."

The faint, ghostly impression of a hand rests on his shoulder. 'Parry, mon amour... qu'est-ce que c'est? It has been a long time since you have spoken French to us...'

"Ahh, Jolie, my love... oui, it has been. And... it has been a long time since I have had those who would call me ami, as well..."

After a moment, the third woman in the room speaks, and when She does, there is love and brightness in the air. "You are free to return to that place, dear Parry. We will still be here when you return."

He turns to face her, one hand resting over the ghostly one on his shoulder, the other catching Orb's hand for a kiss.

"Orlene, cherie... I should not like to let you to get away with too much in my absence." He smiles, broadly, but perhaps it's just a bit forced.

She comes forward, and lightly kisses him on the brow, and smiles, filling the room with radiance. "Don't worry, Parry. You will find that time does not have to pass the same way, on the other side of Chaos."

The kiss burned less than when he had tried to help the demon Crowley during his brief change - no, make that Change; it deserved the significance of a capital letter. The smile faded to something more natural.

"Oui, Orlene... thank You, cherie. I would like to return, and speak again with my new amis... Crowley, and a young boy named Gavroche. Through ignorance I did them a disservice, and I should like to amend this."

He glances at the ghostly form of his first love, whose hand rests on his shoulder. "Jolie... the boy makes me think of what might have happened, had you not..." He is interrupted by her other hand, lightly placed to his mouth.

'Non, Parry. What happened, happened, and I would not change that now. Perhaps some day I shall meet this petit garçon, and we shall see if I agree with you, mon cher.'

He smiles at her for a long moment, and then glances to his wife, Orb. "Go, Natasha. You still deserve more of a vacation than just one weekend." She, too, is smiling, with love in her eyes.

God smiles at Satan.

"Go, Parry. It will be well."

He chuckles, and kisses her on the cheek, and kisses his wives, both living and dead; and he leaves Nature's realm, and heads for Chaos.
