(belated) Other!Satan

In his original canon, round about the year 1350, more or less, Satan took a little trip up to Heaven, and tried to talk to God.

This didn't work so well, as God was a vain bastard and wasn't seeing anyone.

Satan talked to Gabriel, who sort of had taken up the Stewardship of Heaven while God was off contemplating Hisself.

Gabriel was terribly terribly tricksy, and made a deal with Satan. He'd work to get him an interview with God, but in the meanwhile Satan wasn't allowed to totally seize power on Earth - or get God kicked out of office, for that matter. The deal hinged on a mortal woman, Niobe, and her family to two generations after her. She would be born six centuries later. Satan was impressed by Gabriel's tricksiness, and was fairly idle for those six centuries, not making any great attempt to take over. Eventually, through what is possibly THE most contorted supernatural-soap-opera storyline EVER, he falls in love with - and marries - Niobe's daughter Orb, who becomes Mother Nature, and eventually God gets kicked out of office anyway, replaced by Orlene, Orb's daughter.

In otherways, things didn't happen quite that way.

Satan never made the deal with Gabriel.

He spent those six or seven centuries amassing further power, and eventually made his own bid for the Throne of Heaven.

Now that he runs the entire show, things have gotten a bit boring... and so here he is again, taking the chance for some quality craftsmanship.

He's even more of a bastard than he ought to be. He only sometimes bothers with the accent. Pick a face, any face, he changes them for no real reason, sometimes in the middle of a conversation.

He's more powerful than anyone who was once mortal should ever be, and he has not let this stop him.

He is EVIL in a way that, in Milliways, he isn't quite. He honestly doesn't care in the slightest if you suffer, unless possibly it's to tweak things to make you suffer more.

He's not pleasant at all.

Just at the moment, he's been confining most of his craftsmanship to Thom, who is getting his mind utterly twisted. Yay.

He's also inexplicably fond of Moiraine, and amused by Anthy, who tried to kill him but had bad aim. Chances are he's got backstory with you, too, but I dunno what it is yet.
