Okay, I'm reviving my journal. Only because I've felt like blogging lately and Facebook doesn't really have that and I don't use MySpace anymore.
New Years! I'm so ready for 2008. Not that 2007 was bad, but I'm so ready for something new to come my way. I get bored with my life so easily. The other night I watched the movie Guinvere. There's a big part of me that pines for that ridiculous, artsy, broke-ass life that artists live. I'm drawn to it so much. I wish I had a good enough reason to just pick up and catch a bus to NYC but alas... my life is way too good to do something like that. I don't have much of a New Year's Resolution, I'd like to lose some weight, but that's nothing new. I'd *really* like to maintain straight A's in majors, I did last quarter and I'd be pretty damn disappointed in myself if I didn't this quarter. It seems only 2 or 3 people got A's from Hartung and Ross, so I'm proud of that, but it means that I've got to work for them. The only comment I got on my Progress report was a "Pleasure to have in class" and "Works on improving technique" from Pruitt... great.
Something to look forward to: As soon as my lessons with Beth resume, we're going to start working on The Apple Doesn't Fall from The Rink. That's gonna be a *BLAST!*
I went to the most ridiculous and awful wedding of my life. I don't think the whole thing cost any more than 500$, swear to God. Not like pinching pennies is any problem, but they didn't *try* to make it decent. And then they went to Iceland...
On the bright side, Poppy's getting married! Her wedding is going to be so beautiful and fantastic, we spent some time looking at dresses for her :) I wonder if she'll ask Becca and I to be bridesmaids, I would love to be but I don't know what the typical protocol for that is, I'm sure she'll ask her adopted sisters before she'd ask us but... I don't know. I'd love to be a part of it.
I'm so happy to go back to school. I miss being around different people. When I'm on break I just hang out with the same people, there's nothing new. And I miss acting class. Monologue Madness tomorrow starting with the Seniors. I'm confident enough in my monologue, but I still have a major choice to make. (My monologue's from Mamet's Oleanna) At the end of the first act, Carol is about to tell John a major secret, one she's never told anyone. She's then cut off by his having to take a telephone call. I've made a choice about what the secret is, but I'm not totally confident in it. I'm afraid it's too obvious, too... wrong. I have to own that choice before I do my monologue. I can't believe I didn't realize I had to do this before I started using it for auditions.
I got wasted on New Year's... more on that later, I guess.
I feel like this is the rambling of a mad woman, but there's some stuff I'll need to get off my chest and very soon.
Peace.
