I just had my first class of the semester. It's an anthropology class (actually an archaeology class, but whatever), so not only is
anansi120 in the class, but so are a bunch of people from my anthropology classes last semester. Yay!
I should be in another class right now (since I'm registered for it), but as soon as I get approval for an independent study I'm going to drop it. So I'm not going. I ran into a bunch of my friends from freshman year (including my freshman year roommate) earlier, but they all had places to go. And I feel pathetic eating alone on campus. I don't normally mind doing things alone, but for some reason, eating alone on campus makes me feel awkward. So I ate quickly, and am now in the computer lab. This afternoon, I have two more classes (one of which I'm really excited about, the other not so much. I'm taking a French translation class, but only because otherwise I wouldn't be taking any more French classes, which would make me sad. I hate translation.) Now, I'm just wasting time, hoping that my professor gets back to me about my independent study. I need to find someone who has a 12:45 block free who I can eat with...
This morning's class was called "Incas and their ancestors," and the professor came in speaking Spanish. It made me extremely happy that I could follow what was going on. Also, one of the girls in the class is from Buenos Aires, and spoke Spanish with the professor. I now wish that I had gone their instead of Madrid, because everyone is right when they say that the Argentines have the sexiest accent.
