That "Jackass" has saved your asses from annihilation by evil terrosists that want your blood. And arts are not going to protect you from them. Only men willing to die for the cause of freedom and love for liberty. The rest of the world is not beating us down in arts like math and science. Also, the economy...please grow a brain and do not speak of things you do not know about! Do you know what cutting tax brackets do? Any dividends or capital gain taxes? They have given the government more revenue than ever before. The unemployment rate is lower than the average of the 70's, 80's, or 90's! GDP growth at historic levels! Stock market at second highest point ever! Housing market at all time highs. Productivity at all time highs...and yes THE POVERTY LEVEL IS 1 PERCENT LOWER THAN UNDER CLINTON! Bush has given twice as much to poverty entitlements as any other president in the history of this country. Do you really think that the healthcare plan works or social security. Never in the history of this country has a party ( ... )

Yeah...maybe if you read the above statement: government revenues are at an all time high!!!! Revenue is the money brought into the government by taxation. More money(this is including inflation) is being raised now with lower taxes than ever before at higher taxes. Higher taxes create lower reveunes. "Uneducated" people think high taxes raise revenues. "Smart" americans think tax cuts help raise revenues. Who is the dumb american now? Low taxes encourage investment and economic growth. More businesses and jobs are created by lower taxes and then you now have more jobs and businesses to tax. This creates higher revenues!
The constitution was written long ago...but it was built to keep our country structured and the constitution CAN change. This document can have pieces amended to it. This is a fluid document! If its old and doesn't work then why don't we just burn it?

I think you might have missed the part where Tom pointed out that high taxes generate lower revenues than lower taxes. Anyone who has taken an economics class realizes this, it is an accepted fact throughout the business world. Higher revenues = more money for programs!
Personally, I think that the government should have no hand whatsoever in charity, except to give tax deductions for donations. I would MUCH rather (and do on a regular basis) donate to programs that I believe in, and will be run much more efficiently by people who know what they are doing, rather than by some bureaucrat.
Thank you for your time.

Yes Tom, I have read the constitution and I echo Jen's sentiments about it's non-fluidity, therefore, I will not repeat them here ( ... )

Bush, homeland security, and the military has stopped the terrorists. Bush is the reason we havn't had an attack! And the establishment clause states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Please do not try and reword the constitution. The congress shall not makes laws for a religion in the U.S. and they should no NOTHING to try and stop the exercise of any religion. Now the real wording doesn't really help your cause does it? Recognizing God is not making a law for a religion. Did you attend Judge Roy Moore's speech? By the way...just for women's rights sakes...Ann Coulter is attending the WMU campus. Hope to see you all there...at least since the democrats can't afford or get organized enough to get a speaker of their own to come on campus! Thank you all for your time.

Actually Tom, I do plan on attending Ann Coulter's presentation and I think that you'll find that a lot of the people there are liberals.

And frankly, I don't think that anything she'll say will have any effect whatsoever on my personal opinions.

I also think you missed the point on the religion issue, but I have a feeling that it will be a fruitless attempt to try and persuade you otherwise.

1. Terrorists did NOT attack the American people - they attacked the WORLD Trade Center - even though it is true that America tyrannically controls the WTO, IMF, and World Bank. Making 9/11 into a personal attack is exploitative fear-mongering ( ... )

4. “Anybody with basic knowledge of finance or economics will tell you that people act differently when they have an asset that they can claim as their own and pass to their children as they would with private savings accounts.” The savings rate in America is currently the lowest since the Depression. (http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.asp?feed=AP&Date=20060130&ID=5458922), yet Americans are spending more and more using credit. Please go back and review your history books: decreased savings + increased spending = everyone calling in debts simultaneously => THE GREAT DEPRESSION ( ... )

"So please, step off your soapbox, get off your high horse, and put your foot in your mouth, you elitist prick."

Just to mention, I don't think Tom or I have called anyone names or put any direct attacks on someone's character into our arguments. That is extremely immature and uncalled-for.

I used uneducated as Courtney used it above. She said america is uneducated and I proved that you are the ones. Uneducated is not calling someone a name either. It means they have not learned something yet. Thank You.

Okay, first of all, I didn't say America was uneducated. I said that most of Americans are dolts. Clearly there are some educated people in this country, especially since we are having such a heated debate. People can be intelligent and still make stupid choices.

And just because we have different views than yours and don't meticulously study tax revenues, don't say that we are the uneducated ones.

I think you read a little too far into Tom's comment, he was commenting on everyone previously venting on the "dumb and ignorant Americans" in the posts above.

And for my own edification, I'm absolutely NOT conservative. I just enjoy arguing. And I don't enjoy name-calling.
