Inter-ness: Babies v Babies in the Coppa

Jan 19, 2008 13:52

(Wee Mancini.)
Since both Inter and Reggina admitted the tie had been decided in Inter's 4-1 win in the first leg, both teams used the second leg to play a lot of primavera and bench players, and no one was bothered to take any good pictures. (As you may have heard, Inter won 3-0. It was boring.)

Even though Filippo Mancini only played 10 minutes, the one guy who brought a camera was all over him.

Ineffectively trying to cover up his terror.

"Ooooh, I hope Cristiano is watching."

Guess who was captain.

Nnnnnnnngh.

He was, as they say, up for it.

Flailing about as if he'd not been our for weeks and weeks.

It's been so long, just touching a fellow footballer in public gets him off is bliss.

Yes, that's right -- Crespo played!

He did, as you might expect, miss several good chances.

One of them, though, he didn't miss.

Thank you, all 128 fans at the San Siro. That was for you!

Each and every one of you!

Subdued celebrations, what with this being a Coppa match against a bunch of kids and squad players.

Oh, Santi.

Such a good Argie friend.

And what a head of hair he's got!

(No flatiron needed. Zlatan is jealous.)

There was also quite a lot of Supermario.

Like Crespo, he missed some chances.

(Mancio wasn't very impressed.)

Pele, on the other hand, was pretty good.

(Which isn't necessarily good, because Pele with confidence = Pele doing really stupid things.)

Look, Megan -- Nico!

Lots n lots of Bolzoni.

What with the Copp and CL, the kid's practically a veteran at this pint.

Look, Fatic! He played the whole match, if I remember correctly, but the photo guy apparently hates him.

Home to Parma tomorrow (Mancio says Maniche might start, the absence of Deki, and with Zanetti playing in the back because of Maicon being slightly broken), then against The Dreaded Juve on Wednesday, in the Coppa quarterfinals.

coppa italia, 'pele', 'stankovic', 'crespo', team: inter, 'solari', 'bolzoni', 'mancini f', 'balotelli', team: reggina
