My Comic-Con plans, updated

(As I know you've all been waiting in breathless anticipation for this news.)

So! I did finally find a hotel room in Chula Vista for one night only, Friday. I'm hoping I'll actually get to GO then--during the day, that is--but we might have too much work to do here. If not, I'll just come down in the evening and check in to the hotel, so I can be early on Saturday. I'm not a veteran of CC, so I'm assuming you can't pick up previously-purchased badges after the daytime hours close, right? I mean, I've paid for Friday and Saturday online, so if I can't do Friday I'll just have to eat the cost (deductible, at least). But if I can get a badge I'd like to maybe see some nighttime events--like the Worst Cartoons Ever panel! Which sounds like fun.

As far as my hotel, I have no idea how good or bad it will be. It does have La Quinta in the title, I think, which sounds all legit and stuff. When I was searching I found some places that were low-priced, but then turned out to have some VERY interesting user reviews on the sites I was using. One place had a 1.5 star rating (out of 5), and when I clicked for the reviews, the very first line of the first one said "THE ROOM SMELLED OF HUMAN FECES..." NO joke. I cracked up--like, "So you're saying it's a bad place? It's hard to tell when you're being so subtle!" Anyway, should be interesting.

I couldn't find two open hotel nights in a row; I had initially thought of staying over Friday and Saturday, so I could see the specially-kid-geared panel our show is going to do on Sunday, complete with a live read-through with the voice actors(!). I'll see if something comes up, but ai also But I don't know how devoted I am to making that happen. Would be cool to see, though--our voice actors are hilarious and generally kick arse.

Now to write back to a few people's comments (azarsuerte and ropo in particular) to cement some Maybe type plans. The most important note here is that if you're going to be there and have any inclination at all to hang out, let me know! I'm usually not social enough, and if I do my usual shtick I'll end up wandering around the place all alone for two days and feeling like a schmuck. So if you're inclined, say hi, write me an email (anne [at] anne-hedonia [dot] com), gimme your cell or email, somethin', and maybe we'll do a quick greet at some point or even some extending hangin'. I might also type up the list of panels and such I'm hoping to catch, and see who else wants to meet up there (For instance, anybody planning on going to that Buffy late night showing thingy on Saturday? Or catching moroccomole's panel?)

Okay. As you were! (Although they're not showing that at the Buffy panel, I don't think. ;))
