my birthday (friday) was AWESOME. the people here are great.
so it all kicked off thursday night at midnight, when we were at this midnight breakfast thing. there was live "music," and since there weren't very many people there a bunch of my friends that i was with (actually mostly people i was meeting for the first time that night), got the guy to sing me happy birthday, and i got to go up on stage. haha.
at lunch on friday, my math buddies got a big rice krispies treat from the selection at okenshield's. matt had brought a candle with him, and they lit it with a lighter and sung me happy birthday (while getting other people in okenshield's to join in, too).
normal routine stuff, and then i went to the Jewish Shabbat dinner with my Jewish and non-Jewish friends, where they got the table we were sitting at to sing my happy birthday! three times in one day, that's hottttttt!
i also got a package from the fam with a couple of presents and then stuff i wanted from home that i had forgotten. weeeee, getting packages is so much fun.
we decided to go out to celebrate. the first frat party we went to was really cool. it was a South of the Border rooms party, where they had different drinks in different rooms and where half of my math class was (that's who i heard about it from, so figures). i had a rum and coke. let that digest while we watched the end of the FSU vs. Miami game so allen could get in his fsu football time. they were kinda running out of drinks, so i just got a corona next, but it was only able to take two sips before one or two of the frat guys started saying that the cops were coming and everyone had to put their drinks down. so everyone just put their drinks down and left. the rum and coke wore off while we wandered about looking for another party (there were rumors of a wine and cheese party, a Turkish party, and a foam party). we met up with some people that i knew (girls on my hallway, guy from my intro to mechE class). most of them ended up just going back to the dorms, but one guy came with us and led us the way to another frat party, where we indulged in a couple of Cape Cods (cranberry juice and vodka). those were taaasty, but we didn't want to get too messed up, so we quit with that and went back to JAM. there we hung out till four freakin' forty-five in the morning, cause it's the sweetest suite ever.
between parties both my sister and jingyi called, although annie's call broke up at some point and when i tried to call her back, she didn't pick up. i guess when i told her that people ::coughcoughAllencoughcough:: were making stupid jokes about waiting on Wait Avenue, she'd had enough. and you gotta love the words of wisdom from Jingyi: "HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY PANQUEQUE! GO OUT AND PARTY WHILE YOU'RE STILL YOUNG. JUST DON'T WAKE UP IN SOME STRANGE GUY'S BED. BUT FIND A GUY TO MAKE OUT WITH."
my white board on my door cracks me up so much right now. maybe i shouldn't let allen write on it after he's had a few drinks...
