today was pretty crazy just in ways and stories that i can't describe to people in a way that come off as funny. but a quote from one incident: "yeah, he hasn't been with a girl since freshman year, and even then, that was his mom." i think i spent a max of maybe five minutes at any given time in my room from when i left it this morning at 9:45 till now. my schedule is royally screwed up. i just have to be patient and wait for Add/Drop to start and then go beg a professor to let me in a class.
i had the awkwardest of awkwards today while waiting to do my interview portion for my german placement exam. this guy recognized me from ClassOf and he's half turkish and he said my last name sounded turkish, and then i had to tell him that actually i was armenian. and, aahck it was just weird and awkward cause he was really nice and cool. and of course i just had to see him like two or three times later in the day, but luckily it was at a far enough distance that i could just pretend like i didn't see him and not say hi. having a Turkish sounding last name and being Armenian is going to present more sticky situations like that, i get the feeling.
i don't want all the work that classes bring, but study groups seem like fun and it'll be cool to meet more people.
the a capella groups at cornell are amazing. and watching movies played on the Johnson Museum is really neat, even if it is cold out and you have to sit/lie on either your rain jacket or a tarp because the grass is all wet from rain.
i think some people may find the following amusing ::coughcoughMameandAngelacoughcough:: This is one of our shower rules:
"ONE PERSON PER STALL AT ALL TIMES!! What you do with your partner IN YOUR ROOM is your business, but DO NOT take it to the PUBLIC BATHROOMS!! It is also a liability issue."
