hey!!:p Agu's back. i was gone the past 2 days due to 2 mini-travels i did.
my apologies for the delay with messages and comments,  today i'll be catching with everything (DA included) up as i came back a little ill, and i actually wanna do it already. this will be a day for art too, i'm making some studies and working on a few things that some of you might like to see, but i want to make some more progress before showing anything.  i'm extremely sensitive to harsh changes of temperatures, they always occur here in Summer and now i have some symptoms of flu, nothing out of usual xD.  i'm having a lemon-with-honey tea.

the travel past Thursday wasn't very exciting as it mostly happened in car (accompanied some aquaintances from another career that focuses in Tourism). i went mainly to watch birds, but unfortunately i did not saw nothing very remarkable there. cept for a male lesser rhea with a bunch of youngsters and i always  love to spot them ^^ they're so cute (plus i want to reincarnate in a female rhea).
yesterday's travel was far more exciting, we went to a crystaline lake named Huechulafquen. at first i thought it wasn't going to be that great, since it was awfully windy and cloudy (thus chilly) during all the morning, but then the day got sunny and amazing. the place is located near Lanin volcano. first, we climbed into the forests towards a waterfall known as "el saltillo" (note: "saltillo" is a word that stands for tiny waterfalls, but the size of this one was considerable). i took lots of pix, over 300 xD. here's a couple of them:

Accidentally catched 2 visitors in the photo :o i don't know these people

the photos didn't capture it, but the shakes in Chile affect them by removing some cupric salts, giving the water a beautiful Turquoise shade. this happened to several lakes around here.

Monkey-puzzles (those weirdass trees) are one on my favourite trees, and unique to my province in Argentina. they occur in Chile as well, but their range of occurance is overall very limited.

Lanin volcano (i live in Lanin National park, just in case)

Lanin+some Monkey puzzles

photo taken in the boat, that silly dog and the volcano behind :p

entrance (just because...)

as you may guess, most of my pictures focused on plants and animals, but i won't bore you with that :p. there were ashy-headed sheldgeese just plain everywhere! and rabbits, lots of them.

the group was 4 people: Agu, another girl 3 years older than me, plus 2 older women that also attend that career focused on tourism, they are 56 and 62 (or so).
well, the other young girl is one of those people who's too obsessive at work (they went there in order to check the place, as they would serve as guides to tourists). so after we saw the waterfall, she went quickly back to the border of the lake (3-4 kilometres away). the other 2 women, besides older, were smokers hence they would be alot slower than us and needed to rest alot between activities. the only problem of the travel happened when the other girl nearly ran to the lake while those 2 sat to a long rest. i normally don't mind waiting if there's birds around, but at one point i had to go for the other girl who was by the middle of the track and let her know where  the others and me were (there was no phone signal)... obviously, i ran to her and then ran back to the other 2. but as i did so, i dropped somewhere the notebook (paper, not a portatile computer) in which i kept most of my Birding Diary Dx. that's what happened me due to being slow and having not backed it up digitally... i'm so stupid ><. i will still do the entry i talked about, i remember the most important species i saw in the most important outings but still lots of "minor" info was lost, and so were the data on the species i could not identify... whatever, will have to do the backup here really soon. i can even retrieve a few dates, as i've talked about a few of them here in LJ, and i took notes in some other note books too.

then, we went through that border, i helped them mostly with plants. then we took a boat to the border in front, where there was a Mapuche community (aboriginals)  and they got some needed info out of them. now, i LOVE boats and want one for my own :o. the only bad thing, is that during all this time, a little dog followed us. it's not a matter of liking dogs or not, but i look for birds alot and dogs chase them way :/ at first, i thought it was weird of my part to be a birder and a fan of cats, till i found love for kitties was common among bird watchers. now i see why, cats don't follow you scaring sheldgeese and other things away. and i seem to have a magnet for dogs, idk why 8/ they always follow me.  so yeah, i was happy that we rid of the dog when we took the boat, but the waters were calm and the thing swimmed to the other border Dx jksdfhsdjkfhsdljk. then it was taken back with us to the other border as we took the boat back.

i saw a bunch of birds and other animals, plus some really cool insects (seriously, i need a field guide on insects NOW. a week ago i got a small one with a few species of butterflies, but it doesn't have much information, and it only has butterflies. but it's neat as it has amphibians and reptiles too). the amount of insects here is very scarce, and so must be the amount of species. but still, many of our insects look nothing like in the North, and i've found really weird ones.

so yeah, i arrived a bit ill but it was overall a great experience :p i still grief my notebook though :C

we will be doing more travels like this the following weeks, i give them help with Flora and Fauna , they check the places they need to, and we all have fun :p these travels are very cheap too, as in case of not having a car, we go through hitchhiking during most of them.

so yeah, missed ya despite not being out for too long ^^. hope you are doing well!

oh and my LJ entries are tl;dr at their finest xD.

travels, life, photos, birds
