well, a bit late but felt like commenting last Saturday's travel just... because. failed experiences may be funny to read, idk xP or just want to write about it.
i went to a place almost at the border with Chile known as Hua-Hum, around 50 kilometres away from here. this time i just went with one person. the day was perfect, there were tons of places to visit but the travel unfortunately didn't turn out right despite the scenery. the good thing is that now i know i shouldn't travel with that person anymore, he he. took some photos, but they ain't as pretty as the others mainly because we didn't visit much places, which we could have.
well, to start, some of you may know that i have a slight flaw in my left foot, which led me to some problems with my back as well as minor limp. it's not terrible, but i need to take care of my back to prevent future problems and i always avoid carrying too much weight in my bag, sticking to the minimum. so yeah.
when we met before taking the bus, the other woman, who studies to become a tourist guide, told me that her bag was too heavy and "you'll help me out with this". she brought a whole bunch of useless things, like a sleeping bag in case we lost the bus (we hitchhike in such cases), medicines we didn't need, an extra-pair of shoes (they will ALWAYS end up dirty as hell, so better not changing them. plus who cares about clean shoes out in the forest?), and a couple of A4 sized notebooks, in case she'd "lose" one. wtf. so yeah, i was bugged because she should know better, i brought a little as i could and she should have taken care as well. but accepted nonetheless.
then once we were there, i wanted to walk till the exact border with the chilean territory (behind the barrier in the picture, which i of course crossed, there's a small territory that doesn't belong to any of the countries) but she didn't want to walk that "much". this barrier is set next to the Customs.
we started out by sitting to drink "mate" (google it, the infussion) and eating something to release some weight from our bags. at one moment, i walked away to see some birds (i always do it :p) , and when i came back, she had forced a bottle from her bag down in mine and closed it thight. this lead in part of my bag's upper sewing coming outstitched. i got annoyed and took the bottle out, carrying it with my arm (something that's extremely annoying). she told me that we were a team and junk on these lines, and that it was my fault for having an old bag and i needed a new one (which is true, but i decide over my money). so well, by the beggining things were pretty bad.
by this time, we crossed a bridge on Hua Hum's river. and man. MAN, never in my life i had seen such a clean river ^^. it was effing crystal. i've seen lakes being this transparent, but never a river before.
my camera is bad, but check it yourself:
don't let Refraction fool you about its depht. look at this fisherman, water reaches his knees:
there are 3 completely underwater underwater trunks here :p. they were more clearly seen IRL anyway. can you spot the fish?
from the above bridge:
if this ain't a clean river, i don't know what is one. this branch wasn't deep, of course, but its transparency impressed me greatly anyway, you could see the fishes swimming around. it was like a crystal. and finally, off topic:
because i love taking upshots of trees :p
well by this moment she was already complaining about being tired. she went because she is obliged to visit certain places she could guide in later, so whenever they bring tourists they already know the place.
i suggested her to visit Chachin waterfall, it was near and well known, then we'd go to some nearby Springs, 5 kilometres away (for me, distances feel shorter in the field than in the city, maybe that's just me) and if we had some spare time, we'd visit some lake.
in the road to the Waterfall she kept complaining, and she'd stop every 20 metres to rest and from time to time, smoke a cigarette. i waited for her, but from the beggining we carried an awful pace. it took hour and half (even when we pointlessly hitchiked part of the track...) what would have taken about 45 minutes with anyone else.
not to sound like a moralist, you know i do marijuana and heavier things from time to time but if your profession requires lots of walking, don't do tobacco. you'll need to keep your lungs healthy.
so we managed to get to the waterfall. some pics:
this is the closest one could approach to it
i always take lots of pictures of its "floor"
besides the viewpoint, there was this signal: "do not trespass, deathly danger"
of course, i trespassed it a little :p it lead to a bushy cliff, which fell with an angle of about 90 degrees
couldn't get a much better view of the waterfall from there...
after it i wanted to go to the springs, but she did not, besides as we walked back we confused the track, and nearly got lost. after it, she was almost begging me to drag her (joked about it, even). so yeah, we got to the place where the bus would stop one hour and half before its arrival, and i was lucky enough to get her to walk to the river (which was very near) to drink some mates.
tl;dr she invited me so i'd be her camel and then didn't want to go anywhere D:
man it's ok if she doesn't like to walk alot, but why did she pick that career then? it's almost as if i picked one focused on Economy... i'd fail for sure, despite liking Maths, for i strongly dislike accounting. you need to pick a career you'll be eager to develop.
well, it's highly likely that i'll visit Los Arrayanes National park this weekend, which can be accessed to through a nearby town, Villa La Angostura. been there before, and it's beautiful. of course, this time i'll go with someone who i know is not going to disappoint me :p
ZEL!! you should seriosuly come here during your winter so we could hike together. i know you don't carry 5 kilos of nicotine in each lung :p

tldr, i promise my next entries will be way shorter xD
