Chapter 10

Jaejoong was spaced out like a zombie in his room but Junsu was there to comfort him, which was exactly what he needed. To share the closeness and skinship with someone that was not involved in his life. Junsu kept quiet and hugged him tightly, only hushing him like a child when his sobs escalated.

The world that was frozen a moment ago now started to move again. Hyorin was gone and that fact stirred up the hidden feelings inside him. He now knew life was precious and Hyorin has paid the price of losing her life because of his careless and rash actions. Also realizing his own stubbornness because no matter how powerful and free he became, Yunho was the only person he needed comfort from.

“Jaejoong are you alright?”

He didn’t answer. What was there to say? He was no match for Mr. Kim and Yoochun was his only solution as he intended to bring the man down with all his power. The depth that once effulged him was clearing as time passed by. Having Hyorin’s light inside of him was a great comfort to the battle that was to come. This town needed to be cleansed once and for all.

Nobody heard Yoochun’s calls as the man entered the bar. He was dead tired after a night out in the streets, marking their territory and making sure that the newbies didn’t lose it. Normally Junsu would greet him but today was an exception. Jaejoong was still healing in the VIP room. With heavy steps he encouraged himself to go up there and see Jaejoong. The sight before him was heartbreaking, seeing his usually strong friend resting on his own lover’s lap. He squeezed his eyes shut hoping for it to disappear. But of course that would not happen.

Jaejoong was gathering his inner strength, a power dwelled deep inside of him, which was now going to be unleashed. A surge of a white light illuminated the entire room and set a glow like a halo around Junsu and himself. Yoochun who had no idea what was happening could only watched on in amazement. Shining brightly was an understatement for what was happening inside the room. Jaejoong’s glow spread like it was a living organism and everything that came in contact with it was affected.

Beside that supernatural glow around Jaejoong, all his injuries from before were now gone and his skin was back to marble white. There was not even scars left behind to prove what had taken place just a day ago.

“Where is Hyorin?”

“She’s gone.”

“What do you mean?” Yoochun admired that woman’s courage even with all the pain she had caused his best friend.

“Yoochun, I haven’t seen her since Jaejoong came out of his room.” Junsu who sat silently until now finally spoke to enlighten Yoochun about the situation.

“She’s dead if that’s what you’re asking. Yoochun we need to finish Mr. Kim once and for all,” Jaejoong said and maybe it was the way he spoke because Yoochun looked totally baffled. The Kim Jaejoong now looked reborn; he was headstrong and determined where all the darkness that dwelled in his soul was gone instead he had found light and peace.

“Gathered all the boys and we’ll set off tomorrow before sunset. An ambush is our best bet for now.”

Yoochun could only agree. This would definitely made history if they succeeded in freeing the entire town from Mr. Kim’s evil claws. Maybe then Jaejoong can find what was missing in his life for that was not something Yoochun can help him with.

Hyunjoong collected his stuff and rose to his feet when the students approached him. He knew it would be was nothing but trouble if he was caught but it was too late now. His hiding spot was not good enough and his back was exposed to them. He did not utter a single word but the bullies had a lot of bull shit to say to him.

As they were kicking him his stomach and head, he heard a voice saying, ‘Come to the bar tonight and you will find what you’ve been looking for.’

Okay I am finally going nuts, Jaejoong thought. The torment and harassment that he faced must have pushed him over the edge and made him mentally unstable. Both sweat and blood trickled down his forehead, and he was feeling dizzy as he picked himself up after the kids had left.

“Are you okay?” Someone called his name while shaking him. He did not have the strength to reply as he could not even keep his eyes open anymore.

When Hyunjoong opened his eyes again he found that he was lying on the infirmary bed and right beside him sat the person he had least expected to see. This person was Changmin, the school youth board president. The boy beside him was looking worriedly at him with a deep frown on his forehead

“Are you alright? Do you want something to drink?”

All hyunjoong could think about was that his prayers were heard. Shim Changmin is beside me! He clenched his fists when Changmin pulled him up to help him drink water by holding the glass closed to his lips and patiently waited for him to drink.

“Th..thank yo..ou.” He stuttered.

“You know, the next time something like this happens you can come to the youth board and look for me. These bastards will be expelled if something like this happens again,” he patted
Hyunjoong’s head, “don’t be afraid to ask for help.”

After saying this Changmin stood up to leave but was stopped by Hyunjoong’s hands on his sleeve, “Can you please stay here until I fall asleep?”

It was really laughable for a grown man like him to ask for a younger boy to stay beside him until he fell asleep. But this was a chance in lifetime and he didn’t want this dream to fade away so quickly.

“Sure.” Changmin sat down beside him again and started to peel an orange. Hyunjoong’s breathing eventually slowed down and Changmin then left closing the door quietly behind him. This sturdy built man is cute.

In his dream Hyunjoong heard the voice again. ‘Come to the bar tonight and you will find what you’ve been looking for.’ When he woke up the only thing he remembered was to visit that bar again. Like a hypnotized weirdo he walked towards the red district, a place that was dangerous and evil but he was familiar with this place. It was his secret hiding place at night where he let go of his nerd image letting his true character loose.

Changmin who just left the school saw Hyunjoong who was walking towards the red light district and decided to follow him. Is the man going to do something stupid again or is someone forcing him to go that way?

Filled with good intentions and worried for the man’s welfare he secretly followed behind Hyunjoong. The route he took was long and complicated, turn to the left, left again, then right, left, right and finally left. Thank god Changmin had good memories or else he would be lost and not knowing how to get home. Changmin saw Hyunjoong stopped in front of a bar called ‘Black rose’.
Hyunjoong stood at the entrance for awhile gathering his courage before entering. His entire body was shaking with excitement and anxiety. Who was it that called for him? Was it even real since the last few days felt like a dream to him. That night he experienced something he never thought was possible. A beautiful masked man danced seductively around him smirking when he saw Hyunjoong’s face. It was like he expected him and it was the same tonight, the man was waiting for him when he entered the bar. The man kissed him lightly on his lips like an initiation and Hyunjoong licked his lips tasting something sweet.

“Hyunjoong you really came.”

“Is it you who called me?”

“My name is Kim Jaejoong.” There was nothing to hide so Jaejoong was no longer afraid to use that name. It belonged to him as much as he belonged to it.

“Come inside and talk.” Hyunjoong was just walking towards the back room when the bar door burst open and a furious Changmin stormed inside. His face was red from anger and if it was possible it seemed smoke was coming out of his ears.

“How dare you Kim Jaejoong!”

Hyunjoong was startled as he watched the scene in front of him unfold.

“You have no place here Shim Changmin. Boys throw him out and Yoochun can you lock the door? It’s rude for people to barge in without being invited.” Jaejoong said a cute pout on his face making him looked young and cute.

“Sure next time tell me if you already knew.”

“I didn’t know.” It was a whisper and only Hyunjoong heard him.
