I didn't have a chance to post about Yuletide before reveals today (and by "didn't have a chance" I mostly mean "was too lazy"), so I'm going to do a combined reveals/squee about my gift post :)
Fics I wrote
For reasons only partially understood by myself, I wrote four (!) fics this year. I'll probably get around to posting them on my journal too at some point, but for now, here they are:
7 Tips for Handling Your Supernatural Housemates. Being Human (UK), Tom/Hal, PG, ~4,400 words.
This was my main assignment, and I couldn't have been happier to get to write one of my new favorite ships (seriously, these two are great, flist you should watch this show it's magic). I ended up doing an outside POV story using Alex, who I've learned to love more than ever because of it. A delight to write all around, and reviewing canon only reinforced how much I ship this ♥
Three Anniversaries: A Love Story. Elementary, Joan & Sherlock gen, PG, ~1,500.
A pinch hit that worked out far better than I could have ever expected. I don't think I've really squeed about Elementary on LJ yet, but if you follow my Tumblr you've probably figured out that I've kind of fallen in love with it, and especially with its take on Sherlock himself. This fic, which is a series of vignettes following Sherlock and Joan's friendship over the years, is one of my best received ever, and I'm really very happy with it.
Sunday Dinners: A Survey. Community, Troy/Annie/Abed, PG, ~2,700.
When I gave this to
bookcat to beta, I said it is by far the fluffiest thing I've written, and that remains true. I just love these three so much, so this was a fun extra I wrote because why not?
Throw Yourself at the Ground and Miss. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Ford/Arthur, PGish, ~7,500.
I'd never even considered writing Hitchhiker's fic, until I read a letter with the prompt of Ford and Arthur in an intergalactic Hunger Games situation. I couldn't get that out of my head until I wrote this. Two cross country plane trips later, and this is the result. I'm still not sure if I quite pulled it off, but it was fun to play around in the wacky Hitchhiker's world.
What I got
I got an awesome Emily/Nolan (Revenge) fic,
Just Get Down, Another Takedown. It's post-Emily's revenge, features lots of Nolan/Emily, plus more revenge schemes, and an awesome scene between Nolan and Victoria, and lots of awesome Charlotte-ness and is just generally full of everything I like with these two and thi show.
