So the law itself sets in motion its own fulfilment. As we serve, we demonstrate love. As we demonstrate love, by law, we get love. That strengthens and potentizes the individual in a way in which he can deal with his own karma. As the person progresses in love, in service, he is automatically distancing himself from the effect of events. The events take place, but they have less and less effect on his psychology. In the East they say: well, it's my karma. In France they say: well, c'est la vie. Gradually, we have to develop an attitude of c'est la vie. If it is good, easy: c'est la vie. If it is hard, if it is painful, makes us unhappy: c'est la vie. We really have to live with that attitude.

I have pored over volumes and volumes of books, yet the more I discover the more questions I have. I have established that everything happens for a reason, and that we may never know why. It all boils down to karma...

But new years didn't have to be like this, nothing did...
Ignorance is bliss, you are better off not knowing some things. Stupid people are always happy for a reason. Think about it, and think about these quotes:

"...it is only death which is hopeless."
   - Maria McIntosh

"Nine men in ten are would be suicides."
   - Benjamin Franklin

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
   - Bible: Psalms (23:4)

"If I had no sense of humor, I would long ago have committed suicide."
   - Mohandas K. Gandhi

"When all the blandishments of life are gone, The coward sneaks to death, the brave live on."
   - George Sewell ("The Suicide")

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
   - Martin Luther King, Jr.
Next year has to be better....
