Went for testing today.  I'm just shy of 38 weeks and am considered full term.  Simi's lungs and everything are fully developed and we're just waiting for her to get the idea to come out to play.  My external measurements spiked last week.  At 36 weeks, I'm supposed to measure 34-38cm.  I was 45cm.  So I had to go to the hospital to make sure that ( Read more... )

Bah...they're modern medical practitioners what do they know...if you want a proper answer go and see your local Wise Woman or sprightly 500 year old midwife (the old-skool sort) and if all that fails I'm sure I can find an Alchemist or two to gently prod you...but you don't want to rely on doctors, what do they know...not that I'm bias or anything ;-)

Tell Simi just to hold on for another 11 days then she'll be a Libran :-)

Love to you both and Andrew

Dear, Libra doesn't kick in til Sept 23 and I'm sorry. That's way the hell too long for either of us to wait! She's either going to be a Leo or a Virgo. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow and will let you know what she says *hug*

Yep, it's that time of year. Philly starts just before Maryland's does. I went to PA ages ago and had a ton of fun :-) Did she have a good time??

I'm going to try and pop her out, but not without chemical assistance. I want to be able to walk and bounce on my birthing ball for as long as possible so I'm going to delay the epi, but opiates are my friends :-)

1) Ooh, when did you redesign? It's pretty!
2) I'm glad she's so big and strong. I'm concerned about their 9.9lbs rule of thumb, though... surely it depends on the mother's build? You're 5'11" with our mother's hips, and hips are designed to reconfigure themselves for just such an occasion. I mean, you'll probably need that episiotomy (:-() but I'm surprised they don't think she'll fit at all...
3) Wait, how much "slightly earlier"??
4) Tell Banjo to come in the next 10 days and we can both be Leos!

1) ages ago, madame blissfully unaware.
2) hospitals have their guidelines and doctors have theirs. I'll know more tomorrow.
3) Simi's full term so I can safely give birth any day now.
4) Great, just what I need. More signs she's going to be just like you! God, give me strength. I'm going to need it ;-P

All Leo's are unique. If simi's a Leo, she'll be like herself ;-)

We'll see. It's very true that most women don't have the physical ability to birth a child that large. Fingers crossed that I do!
