Went for testing today. I'm just shy of 38 weeks and am considered full term. Simi's lungs and everything are fully developed and we're just waiting for her to get the idea to come out to play. My external measurements spiked last week. At 36 weeks, I'm supposed to measure 34-38cm. I was 45cm. So I had to go to the hospital to make sure that Simi was getting enough oxygen (non-stress test) and then that she had sufficient amniotic fluid to float in.
She's floating fine and free but the tech also did her legs, head and stomach measurements to get an idea of her weight. She came in at 10 pounds, 8 ounces. We were also told that most doctors will refuse to attempt a vaginal birth after the growth checks come back with an estimation of greater than 9.9 pounds. I asked how accurate the reading was and she said within ounces. The last one she did right before the woman had her c-section, the tech was off by 100g. So when I go see my doctor Thursday, I'm looking at them trying to schedule me for a c-section. I'm going to counter with they can induce me early, but I don't want them to cut me until I at least attempt a normal birth.
Trying to not fuss but it's hard. It's also strongly looking like my little bundle of joy will be making a slightly earlier than anticipated appearence.
