life is about to get really awesome.
this weekend i'm going to bangkok (for about the 4th time in a month) to interview with an english camp company for work in march and april, extend my visa until the 25th, and meet up with my best friend from high school who is flying in on saturday. i am also going to eat tons of bagels and drink tons of coffee.
then: 3 more weeks of school, 3 more weeks of living in this one-horse (two-elephant) town. as soon as my last class ends, my brother and i will head off for vientiane to eat baguettes and drink french wine, and i'll spend the next two or three weeks in laos. come back to thailand for a month or two of camps and volunteer relief work in the south, then possibly go to mongolia in june to meet up with my parents and look for some herb that genghis khan gave his soldiers to increase their courage [a rutgers biologist is organizing the trip there for this sole purpose]. get courageous, fly south again, and spend two or three months in vietnam, cambodia, malaysia, and singapore. that takes me to august or september, so if i have enough money (which is highly unlikely), i'll spend a few weeks in burma en route to either nepal or india. otherwise i'll get another job in SE asia or go to australia and pick apples.
i don't expect any of this to work out as planned of course, but it's nice to at least pretend to have an itinerary.
