I just finished my next to last final paper for this semester. It didn't turn out as well as I had wanted it to on a personal level, but it will be fine for the class. I am so thankful that this semester is almost over. (Note to self: Don't take a full course load and have a baby at the same time.) I have to go to one last class tomorrow night, write one last (monster) paper, and drop it off before Friday. I had planned on finishing it this weekend so that I could dump it off when I am on campus tomorrow, but with working overtime this weekend it didn't work out. That and I had to fight with my computer for about three hours today to get the old Office off and the new Office on. The new Office didn't want to play with my IPAQ so I had to figure that out. Apparently I was just supposed to somehow know that there was a new IPAQ upgrade that I needed to download. I hate computers. Or should I say I hate not being good at tech stuff.
Last night Mike and I had date night. We went to see Kingdom of Heaven and got chinese food. I really liked the movie. I had heard this thing on NPR that said it was anti-Muslim, but I really didn't pick up on any of that. It was pretty brutal with its dealing with the "religion" used to justify the Crusades, but the religious justification of the Crusades was a farce so that was a good thing. I had heard something else on NPR about the movie where this reverend or someone was talking about how the movie wasn't historically accurate (what movie is historically accurate by the way) because it showed people going off to fight in the Crusades that did it for reasons other than religious convictions and it showed a knight of the Crusades having a crisis of faith. What a dipshit. Does that guy actually think that everyone who went off to fight in the Crusades did so because of some burning religious need?
So the night was pretty good. Mike was in his passive don't say anything mood so that limited the conversation, but it was ok. We haven't had any QT to speak of with his new job and the rest of life getting in the way. I had higher expectations for connecting with him last night, but sometimes things just doesn't click like that.
