helmet aversion? oh no you must get over that immediately! why do you avoid helmets? sure, they aren't *so* fashionable, but neither are your brains splattered over the road.
You make a compelling argument! It's not only fashion, they're also really uncomfortable, and on my last slow but sturdy bike they were pretty unnecessary.
True, but cruisers are grossly impractical for inner city ridin', especially in a city as hilly as Montreal. Even the vintage ones with light frames still weigh a gazillion pounds. I have sworn not to go back down that road :( Even if it is a sturdy and less accident-prone road.
Somehow, I just don't see how the words "sassy" and "helmet" can ever belong together. But if I get one, I will certainly have to cutesy it up one way or another.
oooooh. that looks painful :( thank goodness your head didn't hit the pavement though!!! i don't think i'd like to be biking in Mont Royal either considering it's scary enough for me to trek by feet when i'm not wearing the right shoes. oh fashionable habits... helmets are pretty difficult to shop for. now i'm wondering if there is a place where they sell safety-approved, fashionable bike helmets. there must be... i think it's time for me to do a little bit of web surfing/researching while i'm multi-tasking at work. i'll get back to you if i succeed ♥ (internet) hugs. hugs. hugs. love & posi vibes oxox
Indeed! I think my poor wrist and shoulders bore the brunt of the impact. I need a massage!
Montreal is great for biking so long as you stick to bike paths, is what I'm quickly discovering. I think I'll be avoiding Mont Royal ave. for the forseeable future. So many cars. So many aggressive drivers eager to cut me off :(
But indeed. I am a lucky girl that my head is intact. Do let me know if you find any promising helmet prospects, okay? xx

And if you're still looking for another bike, the So Nice company has an online contest where it is giving out 100 cruiser bikes.
