I think

Shit has definitely hit the fan.

Today, at exactly 1:13 p.m. I have come to realize I can no longer tolerate living with my parents (and this time it's not a ha-ha hee-hee joke).

I'm being extremely serious about this.

It's hard to start talking about an issue that has been dragging on for a long time. Let me start with the most obvious. I am 19, ( Read more... )

Help, You Need Somebody! vandelayinc May 27 2007, 21:43:13 UTC
Wow, it's been a while since I've heard from you. Well, okay, let me examine this. You go grocery shopping so you're family will have food to eat, not so you can see your boyfriend, that is crap. Your step-father sounds like an ass. If he's hit you, why don't you just hit him? I know, two wrongs don't make a right, but what's the worse that could happen at that point? And, you can call the police on him for hitting you, that is an offense. It sounds like things are going crappy, yet good at the same time. Here's an option, do take him up on your option and leave for a while. You say your boyfriend lives with his parents, stay there for a week or so. See if that's okay. I thought my life was messed up sometimes, but you have alot of stuff to deal with, and I really feel for you, I really do. If you ever need to talk to somebody, my door is always open, I seem to help alot of people with their problems.
I hope things work out in the end.

Your friend,
Mark

Sad thing is...he's not my step dad, but my real biological father. Funny right?

Things are getting better, at least I try to convince myself that they are. It's good to be back.

You're thoughts on global warming kick ass :D

Fawk, I know what you're talking about. I just turned 20 and am almost in the same situation as you are. I also am the youngest of my family and the only girl. My mom and dad go berserk over anything I do, eventhough I've never given them reasons to do so. They're absolutely anal about curfews and I just hate it. I think I used to get home at 3 am when I was 14. I'm 20 and I have to be home by 1!
You know what I hate the most? That they hand out "adult" responsabilities to me and expect me to take them with a smile and not complain about their ridiculous rules. If I'm to be expected to act as a grownup I want the benefits too.
Having a boyfriend has also made things worse, always.
That's why I never tell them anymore.

Sometimes I think that it's a good thing that I barely see my parents, and this is one of those moments. Sorry to hear that you have to put up with this, and I sincerely hope that things get better for you soon.

On the slightly upside, the child in that photograph lived.

Oh, and I saw your quiz results and I have to admit, now I'm thinking about getting Pirahna. I was kind of joking when I wrote that entry, but now I can't help but think of how cool that would actually be.

P.S. Pirates rule and are totally NOT overrated.

I was upset by those results...I only managed to get 30 points!! Kind of lame, but then again it provided insight to things I would have NEVER known about you.

I hope all the piranhas join up and eat pirates

:D

Ugh!!
I can relate with the whole conservative Mexican parents thing. No matter what a good kid I am, they STILL don't trust me and they act like I'm just this impressionable dumb girl who will do whatever her peers are doing. It's like they don't know me at all.

I gave up trying to please them for the most part once I came to terms with the fact that we will never truly understand each other because of the generational and cultural gaps.

I didn't last more than a semester in college without working, I dunno how you do it. Does your school hire student assistants? Those jobs tend to be really flexible with your school hours and they're not too stressful. Just an idea.

Anyway, good luck with everything.
