Hmm, now I'm really curious as to the process that ended up happening to get copyright releases... One thing to not do due diligence. Another thing to just get out and out lazy about it and not double check the releases were there before actually using shots. -_-

I read on one source that the due diligence was handled by a 3rd party. all this reminds me of Ian Malcom....

"[you] were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should." ah well.

Times are sure a changin'

It was. And by resume, someone that was supposed to be fairly reliable at that. I'm pretty sure it's common out in Hollywood. I'm also pretty sure it's common for crap like this to happen, but that most of the time it doesn't get caught somehow.

I agree with you... i'm fairly certain that its very common. Its not that it doesn't get caught, its more like most professionals don't act like morons. There's likely a process involved; an NDA and a settlement of sorts. I'm fairly certain acting like a petulant child and spreading it all over the internet is hardly the proper course of action. I can't claim to know what Darrell and BGZ's true motives are... but i believe that its NOT about copyright... and more to draw attention to themselves.
