I'm going to start a gay-straight alliance.I've been planning this all summer, with determination & a great deal of trepidation. Because, y'know, this is Tennessee. I'm going to get bombs in my locker. Harassment and bureacratic roadblocks, at the very least. But somebody's got to do it, because...it needs to be done ( Read more... )

Heh...You know, I laughed at the pepper spray thing until I realised you were serious. o_o I'm lucky enough so far--at least eight people know I'm gay, and the only negative reaction I've gotten is momentary shock. I tend to attract unconventional people, I guess.

:D Go you! I'm drawing a political cartoon about Gitmo in my economics and gov't class (assigment was to make a cartoon based on one of the amendments--mine has the text of the Sixth, right to an attorney and due process of law, then a drawing of a Gitmo inmate in a jumpsuit and hood, and the text of what the actual current law says about terrorist suspects), and a guy behind me was leaning over my shoulder and went "Wow. Good for you." I suspect there will be more negative reactions when and if the cartoon goes up on the wall. So far I haven't really antagonized anybody, but I'm working on it....

Really? Hm. I have no art and music this year--had to pack all my required courses in so as not to be trapped in high school a minute longer than necessary--but I've heard that the French teacher is really awesome, and I'm sure my friends know some people. A friend of mine from D-B asked me to pass a note to someone at South; said "He's gay, do you know him?" I replied, "If he's gay, I know someone who knows him." Which turned out to be true. o.o
