We went to Prague last weekend for Vanessa's birtheday. Holy crap batman! That was the most beautiful city I have seen. Period. The downtown area is overrun with tourists (a disturbingly high percentage Americans), but if you just keep your head pointed above street level, the incredible architecture of the surrounding buildings makes it nearly ( Read more... )

God that sounds fun! I definitely want to hop a train there when I make my way to Europe next summer. Sounds too good to pass up. :) It's fun hearing about all the fun things you're doing! Living vicariously from here!

Next summer will be a blast. Plan on hopping on to many trains. :) Just make sure you can stay as long as possible...Quit your job if you have to. ;) I am already secretly devising some Portugtal/Boom plans in my head and naturally you must come along.

No Prague for New Years....I am now quite set on Budapest. I want to find some sort of phrase book or short course in Hungarian so I can learn a bit of the language before we go. However, in the worst case, German and English are the #2 & #3 languages there, so we shouldn't have too many problems getting around.

Ok, I won't complain. I'm dying (DYING!) to see Budapest. But I wouldn't advise actually talking to the Hungarians - I've been doing it for 6.5 years, and know from experience that once you start, it's aallll downhill. :)
