Insomnia
People pop up on my FB Messenger once in a while as being "available" but when they are from Los Angeles, I find myself evaluating how well I know them and whether they have made any effort- any at all- to keep in touch.
I realize folks are busy and there is a large swathe of people who need to keep in touch with people that can help their careers, so they focus on those people, and I also realize that (a) I've had stalkers and impersonators who have made interacting with me difficult, and (b) I'm in no position currently to help anyone's career at all, and also, I haven't lived in LA for over a decade. Out of sight, out of mind.
I get it. Still, I am disappointed, but given point (a) above, I can't really blame people. I know things got way out of hand at one point. And I have not had a strong connection to some of them in LA- just clubbing, which as has been pointed out to me, isn't really friendship.
This month is shaping up to be an eventful one.
