Dated June 21st, Runner Vs Wraith, for Ronon

Jun 23, 2008 01:11

The island became surprisingly quiet at night, the residents having gone off to bed, the lights of the huts and compound muted or extinguished. The torches on the boardwalk flickered in the distance, and the sea sparkled with white light from the moon and stars - but it all felt silent and distant none the less. Even the crickets were subdued, ( Read more... )

It was little over two hours later before Brendan finally became completely and utterly alone. To be honest, Ronon hadn't started looking for Brendan right off the bat, instead heading off the to Compound to have a snack or two before the big game. Brendan heard Ronon's yell before he heard his footsteps, turning his head just as Ronon rammed into him with all the force of a freight train. Brendan felt the breath woosh out of him as he went flying off his feet and rolling across the jungle floor, just managing to hold onto his bantos stick as he went and only stopping when his body hit a tree.

Ronon skidded to a halt after ramming Brendan from the side, his body flooding with adrenaline. It felt good to finally start, to finally make Brendan play the part. Brendan had been doing a pretty crap job so far.

Ronon approached slowly, giving his stick a bit of a twirl. Brendan was still kind lying where he had landed. It was looking to be like an easy kill.

As Ronon approached, Brendan continued to lie still, his breathing low and a bit echo-y inside of his mask. When Ronon was just close enough, Brendan struck out with his stick, striking Ronon across both shins, before he rolled to the side and back onto his feet.
