Haikus

Don't let my corporate worker bee outward appearance fool you into thinking I've bowed down to the Man - far from it. It's just that every once in awhile you have to buy the Man a lemon ice or pick up his dry cleaning in order to get him off your back. For those of you slow to realize imagery when you see it, let me point out that "lemon ice" and "dry cleaning" aren't actually items that I have any dealings with - they could be anything. Now and then, you have to play the Man's game in order to placate him, so that you may continue with "other" business.

Today (Thursday) is the first day of the week since early Monday (if memory serves) that it hasn't constantly deluged our area. Of course, another storm front is supposed to move in tomorrow, and with it, more rain (and cold temperatures). There's even the possibility that we could see an ice/rain mix, which will make already hazardous driving conditions more perilous.

Now, about the subject of this update . . .

On a certain message board, there's was a time when said message board denizens would write haikus on a semi-regular basis. My interest in haikus was renewed when I was reminded of "Jack" from Fight Club, and how he often wrote haikus and emailed them to coworkers. And while I don't plan to email any of my own coworkers, I thought that I'd start posting them in "other" places, including here. In fact, should someone wish to write a haiku for me and have it displayed, either post it in a reply here at my Live Journal, or email it to me, and I'll make reference of it next time I update.
