Ana: Sea of Glass and High Priest Review

Aug 30, 2007 16:20

Because I wore this while up in Muskoka and wrote it down, yes I did! And I wore The High Priest not to be Described today. It was a toss up between that and La Belle Au Bois Dormant, but Belle smelled weird and I wasn't brave enough to try it today.

Sea of Glass

Bottle Whiff: Citrus!!!!!! ...With a slight, slight floral hint.

Wet on Skin: If you could take a flower with a very soft scent and a lemon? That's what this smells like wet on my skin. It's an interesting combo.

Dry on Skin: The melding of floral and citrus has dried into something that reminds of me Cool Water. Or even a very mild version of The Body Shop's Oceanus. There's another fragrance it reminds me of that I remember wearing about ten years back, the name of which is on the tip of my tongue, but the words elude me.

I actually really like this one.

From BPAL: Upon the Sea of Glass, glowing with the perfection of spiritual union and the radiance of true wisdom, rests the throne of God. A scent of inimitable purity, crystalline grace, and limitless light.

...whatever the hell that means :)

The High Priest not to be Described

Bottle Whiff: This...really lives up to the name. I really can't think of anything other than another incense-esque scent, only not as rich as Nefertiti, but still intriguing in it's own right. The thing it made me think of when I sniffed it was Zilactin. Also, from re-sniffing it now, it's sorta alcohlic, or at least hits my nose the way alcohol tastes.

Wet on Skin: Still with the Zilactin-alcohol smell.

Dry on Skin: Looking at the list of what's in this, I can definitely say that the name of the scent that has been eluding me all day is most likely the chamomile, because the remnants right now remind me of a cooled down mug of chamomile with honey with some minty over-tones, which would be from the cypress. It's a very strange, compelling blend.

I'm going to have to try this one again.

From BPAL: Monastic incense, blood musk, black leather, cypress, pimento, white pepper, and Roman chamomile.
